this is pure amazing!

Wow! What a powerful piece! How tragic and suiting. As much as it killed Dean to do what he did, he did promise. It seemed that Sam suffered for a long time, and the only true way to end the misery was as it was done.

Where will Dean go? What will he do? Will he, again, be sucked into the life that has/had consumed him? Wonderful way to leave the piece!

Wow... here's to hoping that your dark view never comes to pass. Poor Dean. Poor Sam. Poor everyone. I have to admit that the part that brought the most surprise was that Dean survived the death of his brother. That he willing to continue, to start over, to start anew. I'm happy about this aspect, but unfortunately after seeing Dean's desire to die with Sam when they thought he was infected with the demonic virus... well, I don't see that happening.

Nicely, but horrendously sadly, done.

Not an easy read, in the sense that it was as grim and disturbing as I'm sure you meant it to be. I knew how it had to end, but was so painful getting there. Excellent work.

That was scarily good. One odd thing: I actually got more upset at the use of the car as the funeral pyre than I did about why a funeral pyre was needed. Strange but true. Excellent story, sad and all too possible. I especially liked the whirling glass and Sam the almost junkie.

I don't usually read deathfics. but this one was recommended so I approached it with trepidation! It was harrowing but fantastic. This is the worst case scenario that must be trying to avoid thinking about. And I always thought that he'd never be able to kill Sam, but I think I've changed my mind after reading this. I think he could, if he ended up with no choice and it was to 'save' Sam from himself.

Fantastic story, very well written with an extremely realistic take on how things could go in the future. I believe Dean would do everything possible to save Sam, but if he couldn’t, he’d kill Sam, and you lined up the perfect circumstances for that to take place. Sam at the end of his rope, no other options left, lives in the balance, and Sam begging for an end to his pain.

This piece was so stark, and my heart broke for both boys.

Favorite lines:

“I'm tired,” he whispered hoarsely.

Oh, *Dean.* I can really feel his exhaustion, physically and emotionally, throughout this piece.

With the heel of his free hand he pounded himself in the side of the head. Dean could just barely hear his hoarse whisper.

“Shut up, shut up, shut, up...”

Oh, *Sam.* He’s just so beaten down, on the edge of madness or maybe even a little over it.

Oh, boys …

Ouch. Fantasticly done.

This is heartbreaking. I suspected that John's secret was that Sam would turn evil, thus making Dean kill him, but the thought of it hurts too much to even think about. Dean adores his brother and, while I know he would kill Sam if it meant putting him out of the misery of being a monster, it would mean the end of both of them.

Wah! That was really sad, but oh so good. I love the way you communicate Dean's pain and suffering. It makes you feel tired and weary right alongside him. Very good. :D
