I really love this evolved concept of magic in the Harry Potter story, really interesting and very intricate. Although, in defense of Harry’s mind being stuck in the past, and his reckless and almost suicidal like tendencies, he’s never really had a chance to build a healthy and stable mental state. The emotional abuse from the Dursleys, whatever psychological damage he received by staying and living in a cupboard for 11 years, on the TV worked like a slave when taken out, and the mini life and death situations he’s been involved with even as a child, killing his first person at 11, a giant Vasilis get 12, soul sucking demons that bring out your worst nightmares, and that’s at 13, the tournament at 14, he’s never really had a chance for healthy mental stability or anyone to help him deal with everything that he’s been through.

I definitely see where you’re coming from on Harry’s view of the abuse he suffered, and while in this story may not have been physical abuse, as far as I know, though I think his aunt had hit him with a pan in the books. He still suffered emotional and psychological abuse. Especially being locked in a dark and small cupboard for 11 years, that is definitely psychological abuse. And their treatment of him definitely emotional abuse. As a victim of myself, of a number of different kinds of abuses from when I was very young, I think you approach to this topic very well.

Thanks for another excellent and rather humorous chapter, no I refuse to believe he wouldn’t want to read the Book himself, especially after everything he went through and feeling Voldemort in his mind as well.

Thanks for another excellent chapter, and to be fair, Dumbledore does share a large part of the blame for Harry’s situation. He holds a lot of information to the chest and considering the past exploits and bullying Harry has had to suffer through, Dumbledore can easily be seen as either incompetent, or incredibly manipulative. And considering Dumbledore knew the prophecy, Harry should’ve been getting extra training for a long time that may have just saved him more than a few scars. So at least he’s getting some extra help now.

One hell of an exciting first chapter, definitely enjoyable

This is a well written story. But there is so much poor me, so much ignoring common sense on the part of the characters, so much meandering with no forward progress, I’m giving it up.

This is billed as adventure (and it started strong that way) but it’s taken a hard left into drama/angst.

This chapter has a lot of drama. Directed at Harry, a recovering patient. By the adults. None of them should be allowed near him until they develop some level of self discipline. They do more harm than good.
