Reviews for Weight Of The World
Murazor chapter 1 . 1/26/2012
I had read this *checks date* some ten years ago. Now, as then, I find that the story is quite simply excellent, better than quite a few professional writes I could name.

It is very well-written, almost entirely self-contained, manages to explore in quite some depth an alternate continuity better than fics many times the length of this one do and generally was a delight to read.

No real complaints, except to comment that it might have been nice to see more of the Moya crew (if only in flashback).

Great story.

I just finished reading "Weight of the World" and I loved every word of it! It's a terrific piece of work and an awesome fiction! I really do hope you'll keep writing, as this story shows you're great at it! I really look forward to reading more of your stories!
Jade Tatsu chapter 1 . 8/23/2004
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your fic. As a 'what if' in a genre that supports a multitude of questions, I felt that this one was very nicely portrayed, especially since the theme and subject matter is something that has been haunting John throughout the entire Farscape series.

John's guilt was very well displayed, and his reasons, while cold, were beautifully logical. It was a brilliant job of displaying a man being torn asunder by the guilt that he feels, but remaining together by the job and the duty he still has to his home world and its people.

Aeryn was great as well, and I must admit that when she was introduced as Myla, I didn't even twig as to who she was until later! Superb job there, especially with illustrating how she had become more 'human' to the detriment of her mission.

Your insane Darred was beautifully executed, although, and I realize this would almost be impossible to do, I felt that Aeryn's flash back to that time in training might have been better placed, since it seemed to provide a slightly too convenient explanation for his madness. Still, a great job with the insane commander, although I can't help but wonder what would have happened if by some miracle he managed to capture John Crichton. While the man wasn't the source of his madness, he was certainly the source of aggravation.

With a fic of this scope, it is necessary to introduce original characters, and I would like to congratulate you on keeping them 'human'. It's to easy to make them smart-alke know it alls, with the powers of god, but yours had just the right sense of presence. They were there, but they weren't overwhelming to the main characters of the fic, and they played their roles, in supporting and main cast wonderfully well. Heh! That sounds arrogant, especially when you consider that there are approximately three canon characters in your fic, and all the rest are creations, but still the creations felt right. They had the right humility that enabled them to interact with the canon characters as they might have in the series.

Scorpius was, as always, wonderfully obsessive over a particular human and I just loved how that played out to lead to his downfall. One thing I am curious about though, is what High Command, and the rest of the galaxy (those that care) think about a race of primitives, destroying a Command Carrier. Of course, that's even if they bother to think about it.

I really enjoyed your fic. It was wonderfully written, and the desperation of the characters felt very real. And so, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for sharing it with us. If you’ve got a sequel or something, then I look forward to reading it immensely. But if not, since this was beautifully contained, thank you again for a wonderful fic, that was brilliantly executed and so breathtakingly realistic that it should be canon – or at least a nasty dream in the series, to illustrate the very real fear and possibility of what could happen. Thanks again and congratulations on a job very well done!

I couldn't stop reading this. Very intense reading material. It just felt kinda weird - if I want to see Denver like it is now, all I have to do is look outside - but this is believably creepy, yet the outcome is so, well, oddly hopeful.

Beautifully written. Written about Colorado details in the style of Clive Cussler. I very much look forward to reading more.
thedorkygirl chapter 1 . 3/24/2002
I read this I don't know how long ago and I never gave you a review. I'd just like you to know that this piece of work is probably one of my favorites. The idea is breathtaking, the way that it flows out is stunning, and the entire thing is amazing. I've had dreams centering around the ideas that this fic planted in my mind. (I've had very odd dreams on some other stuff, too . . )

Whenever I think of my favorite scaper fics, I think of this. It truly is a work of art.
plaguelet chapter 1 . 9/18/2001
Wow. Brava!
Perri Smith chapter 1 . 9/17/2001
Outstanding. An almost brutally logical take on how an invasion could go, with a cast of strong, three-dimensional, very *human* characters. Gorgeously written, tightly plotted, and wonderful.
CristinAnne1 chapter 1 . 9/9/2001
This has always been one of my favourite Farscape stories, and after took the time to reread it today, I can safely say that it's still one of my favourites. Thank you.
Varthan chapter 1 . 9/1/2001
One of the best Farscape fanfics I've read in a while. The drama, action, everything was right on. It's a rare fic that makes you feel intensely for the characters and you fic definitely fits the bill. I hope you continue writing more in the future.
windfire chapter 1 . 8/29/2001
I have a procedure when it comes to fanfic. When I really like a story I print it off and put it in a binder so I can read it whenever I want and not have to strain my eyes on the screen. If I like it a lot it gets a red tab in the binder. If I like it A LOT it also gets copied and taken to work with me so I can sneak a read every once in a while. Not a whole lot make it to work and usually long fics, no matter how much I like them, don't make it to work with me because space is limited and I have to hide them or I'll get fired. This one made it to work. It's the best praise my system has.
Kaija chapter 1 . 8/23/2001
wow that was amazing
Sethra Lavode chapter 1 . 7/23/2001
I absolutly loved it! It had ups and downs, and feeling!
zero chapter 1 . 7/18/2001
That... was AMAZING. I laughed, I cried, occasionally I had to force myself to overcome the dread and continue reading, but it wasn't like I could stop anyway. Analise, if you're not a published writer yet, you should be. This is one of the best pieces of fiction I've read in a long, long time - and that includes what's out in print, not just the fan-written stuff. You captured the character's voices perfectly, made me really feel for them, and took me along on an amazing, heartbreaking journey. My hat's off to you; you're a true talent, and I hope that you continue to share your wonderful writing with us for a long time to come.
Banshae chapter 1 . 7/14/2001
Oh. My. Goodness.

That was lovely. You were able to keep the characters as we know them, while taking us along on a completely different story line. Plus, the story reads seamlessly. The voice of Jamal is as believable and real as John's and Aeryn's. I really enjoyed it.

Thank you for writing this!
