I keep coming back to this story. I love it so much! It feels so gritty and real, and the characterizations are amazing.

I love Mikey coming into his own and taking care of his family, and Don holding everything together the best he can while feeling helpless, and Leo dealing with the indignity and lack of control and struggling to stay calm and comfort his family, and Raph agonizing in that furious way of his, Leo's pain hitting him possibly harder than the rest of them. Yep, he's going to be re-evaluating his interactions with Leo when this is over, for sure.

I think my favorite line in the whole story so far is when instead of praying, he thinks of everything he hates about Leo and takes them all back. That made me tear up.

Casey and April are great, as well, and Splinter is both vulnerable and a bulwark of strength. Beautiful.

Is there any chance you'll complete this story? It's so good that I keep reading it over and over, even unfinished as it is. But man, I would dearly love to know what happens next.
