Loved this. Glad he finally came to terms with Charlies death, even though it was his gun it wasn't his fault. Very well written and excellent characterization. I prefer to believe that Jack did know why he asked Sam but he might not want to tell her right now.

For me the leading up to some things is far better than the actual happening and you've just proven that with a sparkling story that was just wonderfully and so sensitively written.

Touching. Nice! Had to sit there and work out the age for a second then. Boy thats a long time. hehe :)

Very sad for Jack, but i'm glad he felt like he could share the moment with Sam - it's definately something i, and Sam, didn't expect him to do.

And it would be so difficult for Sam to know what to do or say.

And yes i agree, as tragic as it is, if Charlie had lived Jack never would have joined the SGC and, in my opinion, earth would have been doomed.

That's a great story! Very bittersweet. This would've been a great start to a "how Jack and Sam got together when he went to DC" story.

That was very well -written and touching. It was also very much in character - I could see them going through this together and the gentle but meaningful hug at the end was superb! Thanks for writing and posting.

Straddles gen & ship? I don't think so! It's definitely shippy, but subtle. And I loved it. I actually could see Jack agonizing over the box, and really not knowing why he chose to share it with Sam right then. Really loved it!
