After spending several days trying to find this again so I could favorite it...I can't shake two mental images. One involving Sesshomaru 'correcting' the 'mongrel's horrible form', and the other...Inuyasha and Shippou running into Koga, who says while admirable, a dog is probably the absolute worst person to teach a fox how to hunt. Because a fox hunts COMPLETELY DIFFERENTLY than a dog. Dogs, says he, hunt like wolves. They chase their prey and rely on their prey being too exhausted from the chase to fight back. Foxes, meanwhile, hunt more like cats, ambush hunters who pounce and strike their prey from above, breaking the neck or spine in that first blow. A fox like Shippou is not suited at all for Inuyasha's hunting style.

Awesome story. Some people go too far and portray Inuyasha and Kagome as Shippou's substitute parents. I see them as more of older siblings or semi-parental figures, which is what you portrayed here. Inuyasha's character is spot on, as always.

Nice word choices and spelling, and everybody is IC. Interesting group dynamics, and the comedic element of killing the rabbit was done realistically enough. (Ew... gross...) I like how you wrote this so it holds my interest, but could have been sometime in cannon.
