Awesome!

What a great introspection! Yeah... Toushirou is a kid and while I really love him being so strong and being bonded (and what a beautiful, strong bond it is) with an amazing dragon Zanpakutoh, part of me wishes he could have had a childhood.

I love MatsuHitsu GEN fics, with Ran being all protective of Toushirou.

This was such a good one-shot that I couldn't stand not to review it even though this story was published so long ago. The way you portrayed Hitsugaya and Matsumoto's relationship was so believable that I could imagine that the feelings actually exist in the manga/anime. I loved that last sentence, it was the perfect way to end it. Stories like these and authors like you are what keeps me on this site and interested in the series written about in said stories. Once again, you did a very good job :)

lots of really good character insights here and it's all so believable and sad and i like how introspective it is and how it makes me think and just wow. and she's vice-captain there has to be more to her than what people often see. but mainly i'm impressed this story is just pulled off so well.

The one-shot reminds me of a song that has the lyrics of the 'warrior is a child' or something along those lines. XD

This has described Toushirou's and Matsumoto's relationship very well! I think this is amazing and is so detailed and...I don't say this much, but perfect. It's great :D

This was so beautiful, it's hard to find words to describe it. Your depiction of Matsumoto & Hitsugaya's relationship was such a wonderful read, and so well-written. I love how you showed the deep bond they share as captain & vice-captain, and I love even more how you showed it as platonic as opposed to subtle romance.

The ending was wonderful, but particularly these two lines:

"Only those who truly know you best can dance on your wounds and insecurities and heal them that way."

&

"But sometimes, when he’s hurt or when she’s not looking at him directly, she thinks she can also see a boy under the warrior, and until she knows that that one’s going to be all right, she’ll stay right where she is."

This was amazing. The way you described everything was so beautifully written. I must say the part about Hitsugaya clutching her uniform was my favourite. But yeah, this blew my mind great job!

you went deeper than the manga would ever go into it. its great how matsumoto sees that child inside of hitsugaya and how she can see beyond all the characters. a definite fav for me :)
