Guest chapter 67 . 9/1
omg haley is so self centered in this chapter. she just learned that nathan’s father gave him a black eye and all she is worried about is being mad at him like wth is wrong with you it isnt all about you. she should have been concerned about him. i am so sick of haley honestly because she didnt even apologize for just ASSUMING nathan was gonna cheat on her. this conversation should be both of them apologizing. (sorry im commenting on a story from 2008 i just needed to rant)
Guest chapter 66 . 9/1
I know this story is really old but first off I wanted to say that it’s amazing and second off I just want to mention how overall in fanfictions I’ve noticed that everything gets blamed on Nathan when Naley fights. Like Haley is to blame too. If my spouse was always doubting me and my faith to them I’d think that maybe our relationship isnt working out too. There is supposed to be trust.

I read this like 13 years after you published it (my bad, I was 6 at the time) but I've gotta say, I loved it, every word, every chapter, everything. The way you wrote the characters seems so real and authentic, and the story was simply beautiful. I can totally see them saying the things they say and doing the things they do. I aspire to be at least half as talented a writer as you. Thank you for this story and I'll definitely check some other ones you've wrote.
Michcheck chapter 69 . 1/21
Absolutely beautiful! Well done and I'm really glad that Haley was allowed to get back into character and the overabundance of innocent and pure adjectives. I think her reaction and her process of deciding what to do was very honest. She had a right to feel overwhelmed, offended and devastated. I'm so happy that you allowed her to still feel conflicted over legitimate issues even after their physical reconcilation. It demonstrated the same thought processes she has on the show.
Michcheck chapter 55 . 1/21
Hmmm, this is an interesting recovery. And I do mean recoverythe last chapter really reduced Haley into a passive bystander. This chapter brought back actual development into Haley and I'm grateful for that. Her behavior was very OOC the past few chapters. She's not 16, you know?

However, I appreciate the introspection in this chapter. I feel as if the forced ignorance of the past few chapters was quite uneven. I don't feel comfortable when adult characters are portrayed in a childlike fashion.

I honestly wished that you had bypassed the tears and the persistent insistence that Haley "honestly" didn't understand what everyone else was saying. I appreciate Nathan acknowledging the difficulty of ending a friendship, but I felt that emphasizing Haley's persistent pureness and innocence was done to the point where it actually detracted from the depth of her realizations when it comes to Greg. Greg is a predator and creepy (imho) and both "innocent and pure" and "other" girls are susceptible to manipulation like Greg's.

I wish the buildup to this very real situation (aka: the 'nice' guy) didn't involve making Haley a child who was too innocent and pure to see anything.

However, I'm so glad with the direction you've taken this in. Great recovery. I'm going to continue until the end!
Michcheck chapter 53 . 1/21
Oh no, you made it 50 chapters before reducing the story into a cycle of Haley being written to be completely and deliberately ignorant towards the big wide world around her.

Haley's crying isn't doing anything. It's merely a consequence of her own stubbornness. There's nothing that can explain that other than it being pure selfishness.

I'm really really disappointed.
Michcheck chapter 53 . 1/21
Argh, why is Haley still stuck in the "I'm so naive" act from several chapters ago? She's had absolutely zero character growth in this area. Her behavior isn't okay and it's bordering on gaslighting. I do not feel sympathy for her anymore. She already admitted that Nathan's observations were accurate, yet she's deliberately feeding into them. I don't understand this aspect of Haley's character in this story.
Michcheck chapter 44 . 1/21
fantastic so far, but I hope the naive Haley exits soon. She's beginning to use her "innocence" as an excuse to lie and play games. She cares more about nobody being mad at her than in doing the right thing, even though she holds to her values over everything else.
Michcheck chapter 23 . 1/20
I'm so late to this, but this is a fantastic read so far. I love the little details that show us more elements of a character.

I laughed so hard when Brooke put a smiley face next to Diedre's name. It's so Brooke and yet it didn't detract from the story.

Good story
Laurie chapter 44 . 1/15/2018
In my honest opinion, I think this is better than the show itself.

Enjoyed this story, thanks for writing it.

You are really really really really good

I know you wrote this story awhile ago. One thing I would like to point out is if Duke played UNC in the national championship game, that would have been at least the third time they had played that season. If they both made it to the finals of the conference tournament they would have played four times that season.

One of the best I'e ever read
