Well I realize this was written a long time ago, but I still feel the need to point out my confusion with the math in this story...

- Youichi looks to be about 6

- Mikan says she hasn't seen him for 7 years

- Youichi says that their mother left them 10 years ago

So... to make this work as well as possible with the given facts...

Yuka left the family when Mikan was... well actually I haven't caught Mikan's age yet, but if she learned a lot from her mother and her mother left 10 years ago, realistically she'd have to be at *least* 15 now, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Also the implication then is that Yuka left 3-4 years before Youichi was born, so either they are half siblings or Yuka came back on a rare occasion, and when she gave birth to Youichi just left him with them.

Not long after his birth, for him and Mikan to have been separated for something around 7 years, Mikan would have left home, making it so Youichi would actually have no personal memories of his sister, and I don't know when she would have contacted him to tell him to change his last name.

Ah well, I can get along reading the story without all of these contradictions, I'll just pretend all the numbers are different than what was written to make mathematical and logical sense.

It's a valuable thing to do though for any future stories to plan out the characters' back stories better, rather than having it negatively affect what you do write, since that aside many people are enjoying the stories themselves.
