Reviews for Remembering Normal
Fadinglight chapter 1 . 1/10/2018
My fsvoritd episode was this, and the animated JL flash is mh favorite version. As is this green latern. You showcase why, thank you.
BatFlashAquaven11 chapter 1 . 3/30/2017
I like this, good work!
Khiori chapter 1 . 1/5/2017
You have serious characterization skills. This was poignant and real. Beautiful even. I loved how you balanced the normal world with the superhero world-how both needed each other to be whole, to function, to have hope to dare to continue trying-all with a simple car drive of two superheroes. Most writers think that the profound moments come at the height of battles, but the best ones know that they really come in the quiet ones. Because they're soul moments. You write these moments.
Multidimensional Scribe chapter 1 . 5/31/2015
I am just reconnecting with Justice League and Justice League Unlimited (only having seen a few episodes of JLu as a kid), but I have seen Divided We Fall and everything in this is beautiful - from the way topic of the dialogue flows and changes, to the characters' interactions, to your style of writing. Just beautiful
SapphireSecret chapter 1 . 7/16/2013
I really liked this! It isn't that often you see something so in-depth. The issues you brought up make sense after everything that went down. Overall, it's well written and very in-character. Good job. :)
Blessed24 7 chapter 1 . 5/5/2012
Incredible. I really enjoy the sense of camaraderie between the two.
Phygmalion chapter 1 . 12/11/2011
I believe the artist was Pygmalion, from Greek myth. Fell in love with his own statue. And yes, that's where I got my username from. :)

Seriously, though, great job on this chapter. I always wondered what the fall-out from Wally's "stunt" would look like. With this, I think I do. Great job!
thesunwillshineclear chapter 1 . 8/21/2011
Fantastic piece of work you had here! I'm glad you worked on it for a month 'cuz I doubt that it would be as brilliant as it is if you didn't. John and Wally's interactions and banter (even though their pretending everything is normal in the beginning) is amazingly in character and it just... fits. (Sorry, I've been having trouble with words today) :)
Nerd chapter 1 . 5/6/2011
I loved this fic so much. I really enjoyed the emotions (which were very well portrayed).

However, and I know this is years after you wrote it and you might not care, but there's just this mistake that bugs me.

You say Flash travelled near the speed of light and then you say that he circumnavigated the entire globe in 4.56 seconds. That, I'm afraid, doesn't match up.

At its widest point (the equator) the world has a circumference of 40 075 160 metres. The speed of light is 299 792 458 meters per second. To circumnavigate the entire globe at the equator would therefore take roughly 0.134 seconds. I think you see the problem now. 4.56 seconds is no where close to 0.134 seconds.

In fact, if he circumnavigated the globe at the equator in 4.56 seconds, then he ran roughly 8 788 412 metres per second.

So as much as I love this fic (and I do, very very much) I just can't help but be bothered by this. If you'd said he did it at near the speed of light clocking 0.22 seconds per cycle, I wouldn't have minded, because that is near the speed of light.
Clueless chapter 1 . 3/30/2010
I think most people have forgot this story, but I do want to say how much I loved it. I have been looking for something like this for like EVER (trust me I don't have a account, yet, but I have been lurking around here for a year). You got the relationship, the tense feelings, the truth between the lines, everything. All I would ask is more! he he but really it was perfect!

Belphegor chapter 1 . 10/31/2009
I can't understand why there's only 17 reviews for that story. Maybe the premise of two blokes in a car, (not really) talking about just how messed-up their lives are - and always have been, really - just isn't appealing enough for some, but boy, do they miss out. I love this piece, because at first it parallels John's road trip and feels like it's going nowhere in particular, but it's deceptive; as it goes along, the themes emerging take shape and taste and reality, and you realise you're reading a perfectly characterised piece of character study.

As usual when it's one person's point of view and musings on another, I'm never really certain whether we learn more about John or Wally, but one thing is certain - this story is one of my very favourites on this site. There's just something about the familiarity of their banter and how they rely on the normality of it to get to their feet again - or, like John, choose to discard the routine and get to business - that makes it fascinating to read. John trying *not* to think about a lot of things at once is a great touch, too. And him being angry at Wally when he realises he was willing to leave them all behind when Shayera and the others pulled him back. And laughing in the end, and it feeling good. I could go on for ages :o)

So, yeah - it's not the first time I read this fic, and chances are it's not the last time either. I like to come back to a good read. And I will. Because this thoughtful, quiet piece is ten times worth it.

Now I wish other readers would get off their collective butts (figuratively speaking) and leave the number of reviews this story deserves. I'm doing my own little part :o)

Great job, in a nutshell.

Belphegor :o]
samkit chapter 1 . 8/10/2009
This is probably one of the best stories I've ever read, not just on Fanfiction either. seriously. It's really good.

warrior of worlds chapter 1 . 7/5/2008
aw that was a nice little story it has potential to keep going you know.
hoheehum chapter 1 . 6/17/2008
Two super heroes, sitting in a car, talking/not talking about how their lives are in shambles because of a space station and the mistrust of the entire human race... and at the same time, it's just two guys who suddenly don't know each other half as well as they thought, sitting in a beat up old Ford, uncomfortable but frustrated enough that they're (almost, kinda) willing to work it out.

Ugh, it's 3:30 am, officially time to call it quits and get down to business (sleep.) So, my review sucks.

Just know that this is another great piece. Really, I love it :)
Lovova chapter 1 . 5/6/2008
Very nice. I loved how you ended it, it made me giggle (should I type GOL instead of LOL? Does it count?) And I think you did a really good job of keeping it realistic. Great job!
