I don't even know where to start writing this review because the story is just THAT good! I love this; you made me reread each chapter just to make sure I didn't miss any important details. And the dialogue and thoughts of all the characters was beautiful. I find it so rare to see this in fanfics anymore. And the steady evolve of their relationship throughout the story was awesome; and yet you had me surprised when you said they only been on the run for 2-3 weeks? XD Just absolutely amazing.. this story deserves more likes than what I see.

I finished this at 5.30 in the morning, so I decided to wait until my brain was working again to leave a review :P
Honestly, this was such an amazing story! That ending nearly destroyed me, I thought for a moment they were really going to both die... glad that wasn't the case! I haven't read the manga, so I can't comment on that, but either way I enjoyed the darker version of Atem, and this story in which they're the same heart, which is even better.
So yeah, loved it!

I love your lore. The pharoh split his soul to save his country, sealing away darkness with one half, and sacrificing himself further by burying it and protecting it with the other (I bet his 'heart of mercy' is what designed his fancy/deadly tomb too!) His light half reincarnated as Yuugi, who was able to unlock the other half of his soul (who suffered the price for millenia) after paying the penalties (his family, friends, confidence, maybe his health/height too!) and now he's reuinited with his literal other half! It's amazing lore, romantic and dark and beautiful! I think I'll be saving this one to my library and reread it again, you're a master of storytelling and games :D

Betrayal house on the hill, is my favorite game

This was a phenomenal story. My god! I could not put it down and I cannot believe I didn't find this sooner. The tone was eerie and dark - exactly like early manga! I got goosebumps whenever the shadow moved in the first few chapters - balanced by warmth and love and the utter adoration of the characters. The plot was really intriguing; I could wait to find out what's going to happen and I really adored the changes you have made to the Pharaoh's backstory.

I'm BEYOND IMPRESSED with your characterization of Yuugi! Like, holy moly, finding a Puzzleshipping story that doesn't fall into the stereotypical seme/uke dynamics is hard even now - and this fic is 10 years old! One of my favorite parts was when Yuugi realized that he doesn't NEED the spirit, he doesn't need him at all to survive and be strong... but he WANTS him. That was such a fantastic moment.

You are incredibly talented, and have a phenomenal way of with words and the voice for the characters. I'm glad I could find the uncensored version on LJ, those scene really added even more depth to the story.
