Reviews for Freisetzen
RugitusAstra chapter 1 . 1/29/2017
This is awfully beautiful.
onamoontrip chapter 1 . 4/5/2015
This is so immensely sad. The worst part is the head cannon that time is rapidly passing in Amesteris, amerstris, amneamne, however you shalt spell it. No matter how hard Ed tried, the world he would return to would be so different from the one he just parted with... Dam you, I want more years. -_-
Guest chapter 1 . 12/29/2012
This is... sad. Beautifully, artfully, tastefully depressing.
Rocky Babble chapter 1 . 11/7/2012
This is wonderful. You have managed to capture Edward's loneliness perfectly, while at the same time paying homage to the people he left behind in Amestris. I do hope to see more FMA fics from you!

sapphireswimming chapter 1 . 9/4/2012
This is so amazing. You crafted the story perfectly and all of the emotion- his trying to remember, trying to get there, trying to make this work... it pulls at my heartstrings so badly. I honestly began tearing up by the last section because it's just devastating. Beautiful job with this idea.

BundleofContradictions chapter 1 . 2/13/2011
I liked it. So sad and wistful and realistic-I can just imagine Ed screaming "There's no place like home", because he has none. The details are just descriptive enough to give the reader a sense of Ed's lonliness. The way he no longer protests against accusations of being short like he used to, because no one will get the joke. His reactions to the deaths of his father and Alfons. The way he doesn't make note of anyone elses' names. His secret desire to be murdered...

And, hey, you can write a fic without a creepy, disturbing sex scene! ;) You should do that more often!

Kudos.
mangafreakazoid chapter 1 . 2/11/2011
My goodness that was touching. You really conveyed the desperation at the end very well. I almost cried at his realization when he was in Earth longer than Amestris, and the end did make me leak a tear. Nicely done, I could rave about practically every part of this.
LaPlacesDemon chapter 1 . 12/19/2010
Oh God, this is absolutely brilliant. You've captured Ed really well, and I adore your style of writing. Amazing job.
SongoftheDarquePhoenix chapter 1 . 12/1/2010
That was beautiful- and heart breaking.
Moxxi chapter 1 . 11/18/2009
Oh dear. Your first FMA fic? It's wonderful. I love it so much 3.

Good job!
Me. still chapter 1 . 8/5/2009
This is so amazing and brilliant and beautiful. It made me cry. Also I couldn't remember Maes's daughter's name either. That made me sad too.

-sigh-

I shall go to bed now.
Schwimmschik chapter 1 . 6/3/2009
Wow. Another of your fics I feel almost guilty for loving. Poor Edward...

I love how you always bring up possibilities that I had never even considered (Alphonse going to a concentration camp for example), but once I read your stories it's like "Of course that happened, why wouldn't it?"

I like your characters more than the canon ones. Not some of the time, most of the time. You're not afraid to get realistic and delve into the truly twisted pathways of the human psyche. These characters can't go through everything they go through and come out unscathed. You really understand that and I'm astounded at how screwed-up the characters' minds are.

Freisetzen: Frei is free and setzen is to set or sit. To set free, which describes this piece completely. Edward has to set the memories free.
draskol chapter 1 . 5/8/2009
Okay, first of all: Wow.

Just . . . wow. Not very coherent, I know, but there's really not much else I can say. I actually found this piece a couple weeks ago, read the first couple hundred words, found it so physically painful that I just stopped reading it and didn't finish. Bookmarked it. Fast forward a couple weeks, and here I was again giving it another try.

Boy, am I glad I did that, because this piece is amazing. So much raw emotion it quite literally ripped out my heartstrings. I actually teared up at the end - and I don't think that has ever happened before while I was reading something, whether published or not (and I read around quite a bit). But . . . wow, just amazing.

Very well-written. My hat off to you. I can only hope to become as good a writer as you someday.

Anyways, it's been a pleasure reading this. Thank you so much for writing.
