Now I really, REALLY want to know who was narrating! Shadow really deserves some happiness in his life, even if it is inevitably overshadowed by amnesia. Because, really, when doesn't that happen? Oh well. That's why we all love him!

very nice! I think any fic open to interpretation is really good.

I loved your writing style a lot, too - very dramatic, yet not sappy or clichéd. The really interesting however, was what I had in mind when reading the fic...for me, the girl talking to us was actually a human from earth, playing a videogame with him - a fangirl. Hey, we all love shadow, and after that poor thing had lost her family (as you stated somewhere midway through) she just...got a little lost. Loving a video game character is so much easier, because, as you also wrote, he can never die. get shot, brun up, fall into an abyss, respawn two seconds later.

So, I imagined her playing the game, imagined her probably day-dreaming of some self-insert story when she was thinking of their friendship (especially 'sunny days spent inside' reminds me so much of a video gamer) and then...Shadow 'died'. The game froze, and he didnt come back. She had to get a new copy, becuase her game disc was broken (or just got a new game altogether, sonic 06, perhaps? ;) ) and then suddenly the magic had gone. Shadow didnt know her anymore, because he was just animated pixels. And she hated his immortal, game character status as she finally realized that there is no way he could ever love her, because immortals are not alive.

...or it COULD just be Amy Rose crying her eyes out, which would work as well. Anyway, only really good stories get my imagination running in overdrive like this, so be proud of this!

Beautiful story Danni! I've actually read your other fics, but haven't been able to review them...but nice job! I love your writing style.

I must say, though, that this one's my favorite. I'd guess the girl is Amy or Rouge, but that is, again, a guess. I must say that the last two lines of the story are my favorite.

Anyway, I've ranted long enough. Keep up the good work!
