I know it's been eight years since you've updated this, but I really wanted to say I love what you did with Rale and Vaan. Rasler never really gets explored beyond being Ashe's "lost lenore" and Vaan is treated about as well as Tidus in the Final Fantasy community. By which I mean it's hard to find a fic that doesn't bash their characters. Poor Vaan has the misfortune of being in the same game as Balthier, the Han Solo of Final Fantasy. So I love that you highlighted Vaan's strengths as someone who is actually skilled and streetsmart while also maintaining his boyish charm. You reestablished his place as the protagonist, when he often gets side-lined. I was not expecting the Vaan/Rasler pairing but you've absolutely converted me. I do hope you revisit this, even if it's just for the fun reveal part with Ashe, and especially her reaction to the budding Vaan/Rasler. Thanks for writing!

You know I've read this story so many times over the years and I don't ever think I've reviewed it! Its such a unique pairing (LOVE anything with Rasler, and him with Vaan is just amazing for some reason) and a wonderful take on Vaan (I'm one of the rare few who actually like him). Just wanted to express my love of this fic and hope that one day you'll continue it!

I'm sad you stopped here. ): I'm hooked on this pairing now, after replaying FFXII. Usually, I'm all for BalVaan but...Rasler is badass, isn't he? I do enjoy this version of his character and he'd be so good for Vaan! Someone to actually believe in him, teach him, and encourage him! He could grow so much as a character that way. :) You've done well. I'm off to go dream of handsy princes and poor unsuspecting paupers.

I will be so sad if this is abandoned here! This is probably one of the best fics I've read in a long time. Your grammar is lovely and I cannot express how much I love this pairing. I hope you have the inspiration to continue because I desperately want more! Bookmarking this for sure!

Wow, I just discovered this, and it's amazing! Poor Rasler doesn't get much attention, so I liked how awesome you made him. You also did well with describing the background, although I was surprised that Vaan and Balthier didn't recognize him. I kinda expected them to. I can't wait to see what happens when Ashe discovers that Rasler is actually alive...

i can't understand why he was basicly ignored either he is my Fave Characterand unlike Squall or Cloud or even Tidus he has a completely diffrent personality as in he is almost Bi-polar
