Reviews for Award Winning
Guest chapter 1 . 5/11
Alan should not blame Don. And Charles is idiotally unaware of emotions and surroundings. Both these men made mistakes Don has to suffer for.
Guest chapter 1 . 9/1/2019
Dang, Charlie is so oblivious and self-centered.
Guest chapter 1 . 7/30/2019
Ok I was getting partially upset cause I was thinking for seventy-five percent of the fic “CHARLIE WOULD HAVE WANTED TO GO!” but you got it.

I LOVED it! Zero complaints, and all compliments.
Great job!
wotumba1 chapter 1 . 2/5/2018
kinda sad story. don is always taking a step back when it comes to Charlie. and Charlie never seems to really appreciate it...
Guest chapter 1 . 5/15/2017
Wow. This is brilliant. Thank you so much for writing this
Callisto-HK chapter 1 . 7/26/2016
I loved this story. It's great. Even after so many years. But I think Alan should've been the one apologizing instead of the other way around, or at least he should've apologized TOO. He's the one who had made Don believe everything about Charlie is more important, of course Don wouldn't mention his own award.
And the way everyone else reacted to Don winning such an important award, the thing Charlie said? I honestly was shocked.
But I guess it's just me always wanting more angst! Haha
Thanks for this piece. Like I said, after so many years it still felt good. (Just can I smack both Charlie and especially Alan over the head once?hehe)

Very touching story, thanks for writing this. :)
LisaG16 chapter 1 . 11/20/2012
great story. poor don...damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. i think alan should have been more understanding of don's choice...he's used to charlie being first all his life, so of course he would do it again. maybe alan could throw a nice big bbq for the bbs award winners!
Iawen Londea chapter 1 . 11/1/2009
I really, really like this. You did a great job capturing the dynamics of the Eppes family, and the way everyone around them fits in with them. I loved this conflict between Don and Alan and the way it was resolved. You also did great with Charlie-him being a little slow to realize what had happened, long after Alan had figured it out. Good job!
EmptySky chapter 1 . 5/7/2009
I just discovered this story here, and I hope that you get to read my comment cause I’ve seen that it’s been a while since you posted the story. I’m not usually a fan of one-shots, but I enjoyed reading this one a great deal ) I guess that not telling his father something about a ‘milestone’ in his career is something that Don would actually do on the show as well, so I found it very easy to picture this particular event in my head. Megan almost spilled the beans for Alan, sadly it didn’t go click the way it could have. But I guess if it had, then there wouldn’t have been this story, huh? Okay, random moment. Anyway. The crossword scene really hit the nail on the head; kudos to you for thinking of this line. It fitted the flow of events in a good way. The tension between Alan and on saddened me a little, because that’s just not the way it should be between father and son. That Alan is upset is something I understand, but I think that him pretty much dismissing Don to leave is something not acceptable. Nice of Don to not rub it in Charlie’s face that they’re had this little tiff because Alan had not been at his award presentation to be with Charlie; and that he plays a small part in the dilemma. The way they talked about everything, and how Alan realized what really was going on, is something I enjoyed reading as well. Thanks for the nice piece of entertainment!

Great story! It was soo Don how he handled it. It'd be interesting to see Charlie's reaction too. Thanks for sharing

I loved this!
fanofhc chapter 1 . 2/4/2008
I enjoyed this very much. It was a really good idea. My only query is the fact that Charlie heard about the date of Don's award and made no mention of it, especially when he saw the tension between Alan and Don. Other than that I did enjoy the Alan/Don interaction very much.
