This was absolutely heartbreaking! For the first half of the story, I was trying to figure out how you were going to make Dean not be dead. Very cool twist to set things right again. I love Dean's little side trip plan at the end.

And I had to be honest, I also didnt believe Dean is alive and kinda thinking he's just a ghost or hallucination or something. Because. *cry*

But then, what I find it really amusing in this is the fact that you did mention what happen to John. Like they just forgot to tell John that Dean, in fact, didnt really die. lol.
I know it didnt significant, for this is the brothers story (and maybe it happen in the mid of somewhere just didnt being mentioned) but imagine how would John felt having listening to his voice mail that his eldest is dead. *cry again*

this was sweet and terribly depressing all at once. kind of reminded me of mystery spot (which is one of my favs). well done.

This was a hard one to get through, just because the emotions were so raw. Sam had absolutely no idea what to do when Dean had died. But then for Dean to walk in the door and it (understandably, but still) took him forever to understand that that was really Dean.

I seriously hate you right now , well not hate you but i'm a wee bit annoyed , you made me think Dean was dead I actually started crying reading it before Sam started crying in the story and hen my secondary reaction was that I wanted to be able to just hug Sam rub soothing little circles on his back ( because yes for some ungodly known reason that stupid trick usually works when someone is upset) and let him cry

Ok this one was a tear jerker.

You really had me going that Dean was really dead when I read the first part of this fic, and was so relieved when Dean walked through the door wondering why Sam had taken the car and left him to walk back to the motel. Can well imagine Sam not being sure if his mind was playing tricks on him or whether it was really Dean. And, duh, Dean really shouldn't have left to get rid of the shifter and check out the other creature Sam killed without telling his brother, assuming he would be asleep when he returned, but then Dean realised that as soon as he walked through the door again and saw Sam. Loved the idea they would detour past Mt Rushmore on their way to Ohio! And with Sam leaving that message on their dad's phone you would have thought he would have rung his youngest!

I really liked this one. I am a little curious about the message Sam left for John. Sorry it's 4:00 am and that is my most compelling thought after reading this very interesting story.

The complete gut-punch to Sam and to the reader of Dean dying in the beginnning, and then Sam's grief followed by disbelief-all perfectly written, so intensely I felt every moment of Sam's experience!
