You would make a very, very good poet. Seriously, I mean it. I wasn't sure it fit with the story at the beginning... but I got into it... and I liked the 'winter dew granite' thing. That was just awesome. Some of it was a bit melodramatic, but overall it fitted awesomely.
I particularly liked the last bit at the end, with the 'say I will kill you' bit, and how Matsuri seemed kind of unnerved at her sensei's transformation.
And the 'heck' bit... that was great. XD

I don't know why, but I really hope so. Matsuri's AWESOME. Screw what people say about her just being a filler character. She's AWESOME.

Hey Kishimoto you better be taking some notes here! I used to have problems like this as well as Matsuri and I literally did the EXACT thing she did: cried my eyes out. What's even funnier and more ironic is that to stop them I did my wonderful evil-glare and kicked them in the shin (if they were boys) . They don't mess with me anymore. :D

In my biased opinion, I think you've very successfully described how two lonely children can cope together against the rest of the world. This passage- along with its incredibly well-used vocabulary- was such pleasurable reading, I most certainly wished for a sequel once I was through with it. The awkwardness between characters and their eventual overcoming is delightfully realistic, as well as in-character (something that's particularly hard with Gaara, post time-skip or not...).

I want to thank you for creating such a story as Death Glare and posting it publicly so that I was able to grasp it. It's been such a long time since I even bothered to review in this site! Your writing is utterly worth the five minutes it took me to do so, ha, ha, ha!

I have no constructive criticism that will help you in any way. Your pauses between scenes were placed in a way that was easy to follow, no grievous misspellings or wounding sentences took place from within the paragraphs, and you rounded the characters explicitly in ways even cannon itself is unable to show. Praises are all you're getting from me!

Of course, I'm not declaring that there's absolutely no manner for you in how to improve, but in order to really understand if you've erred while in writing, I find that the only ones that can help are the professional, the obsessed, or the professionally obsessed.

Hehe. Man, what I wouldn't give to have a teacher like Gaara. I would definitely not object to death glare advice. This was a great read! Funny, sad, and a nice bit of backstory for Matsuri. Thanks for sharing it!

My favorite line was: "As if you'd like to rip their hearts out, yes." Gaara shrugged again. "As if you'd stand there with a knife, and cut long red lines into their flesh, and laugh all the while . . . which probably isn't good people skills, but hell with that . . ." - Gaara really started getting into the teaching around then, haha. Nice job!

HAHAHAHA that is sooooo AWESOME! I want some anger managment Gaara style! This is hilarious. I just about passed out from laughing when they were just saying "I will kill you" over and over again. Damn that's awesome.

I absolutely love this! Matsuri is sometimes a very two-dimensional character in fanfic, but the way you wrote her gave her a LOT of dimension.
