This is a pretty story. Kanda rescued Allen but not in a big flashy way. Just by being there when he needed him.

hello, i've gathered you are a very humble and private person, so i'll try my best to make this short and (hopefully), sweet, in hopes of maybe giving you something to smile about.

seeing as this was written in '08, and that it's the only dgm fan fiction you have written, i'm not even too sure you remember much about it. maybe you've stopped writing, haven't picked up this manga in a long time, or this was just an idle passing fancy. nonetheless, i'd like to tell you with the greatest enjoyment in my heart that this was absolutely beautiful and hands down one of the most well put together pieces of writing i've read, be it fan fiction or any sort of writing at all.

books made for teens my age and fan fiction written for my favorite pairing are dull and poorly written, and often i lose hope in the things i find and the things i write myself. though i realize i will never be half of what you are, i hope to find something as pretty as this in the future to enjoy again, because this piece will stay with me for a long time. not as an implied yullen piece, because it's brilliance has let me see past it, but as a few sets of wonderfully put together words by someone as creative and talented as you are.

thank you for writing this, and i hope you never stop writing, be it fan fiction or anything at all. you are absolutely talented and an inspiration for a young (and poorly self-proclaimed) aspiring author.

I haven't read any new -man fics in quite a while, but I'm glad I found this one (through someone's favorite author list). I've never seen anyone attempt to relate this sort of possible ending to the story; it was intriguing. I like the need without any romance between Allen and Kanda. It seems more... right, that way.

The very ending is my favourite part. And the section where Allen is crying over the doll he lost. Great fic. :3

so sad...and disturbing.

You have no idea how much this story still slays me. I mean, the implications and the perfection of those two last sentences are just so... *explodes* So amazing. See, -this- is the feel, the style, that I want for Lacquer. Not quite so sad and hopeless, but that... surreal, etheral feeling. *sigh* just amazing.

You know, normally for longer one shots I tend to skim the details and skip to the dialogue or just look for key words that might interest me. But this, I read it all. It was amazingly well written. Your discriptions were great and everything was so vivid and it just jumped off the page- or screen rather:P It was beautiful and the ending was perfect. Thanks for this amazing read

This is so depressing, sad, heartbreaking...but breathtakingly beautiful. Very haunting story, and made me cry while reading it. It has a nice flow in all it's disjointed-ness (which I love). You protrayed the insanity flawlessly.

Cute. God knows that Allen would go completely bonkers in a totally polite and gentlemanly way, and then he'd drag Kanda along with him.

This is both the first -man fic in a long time and one of the best I've ever read. It's amazing—there's just no other word to describe it as amazing. I love the mood of it: disjointed and dysfunctional with regret as the driving force. Allen was haunting and Kanda had that rare fragile side which I love. Wonderful.
