Reviews for Difficult Things
aquarius89 chapter 6 . 10/27/2017
I like the story! Please finish it!
Harpokrates chapter 6 . 6/15/2016
This is great! I love the way you write Sunstreaker-you don't skimp on his personality in an attempt to make him more likable, but at the same time he's sympathetic. Hound is excellent as well! I really hope you plan on continuing this, especially now that it's stuck on a cliffhanger (well, the cliff isn't exactly hanging, which is the problem)!
gryphenvoid chapter 1 . 3/2/2016
I love this story so much I can't even describe it. I have such a soft spot for socially awkward friendships/developing relationships.

I rarely read stories more than once. This is my fourth read of this one. I just need to squeeee at how amazing it is to you.
Vela513 chapter 6 . 1/7/2016
Ah! Don't leave it here! Do they find Hound? Does anyone figure this making friends thing out?
jpgFury chapter 3 . 8/31/2015
I think this is one of the best lines of all times:

"And about as emotive as paint, but everyone had their little flaws. Primus knew half the Ark had some sort of diagnosable social problem. The other half ranged from mildly quirky to highly weird."

It got me thinking about all the bits, even the ones you don't see too much of, and I think the statement pretty much covers them all. Prime has a martyr complex, Prowler is mild to moderately autistic, Cliffjumper is classic short-man syndrome... The list goes on and on. Jazz is probably the most well adapted of the lot next to Bee and the nauseating optimism, but I always thought J was hiding a lot behind his outgoing persona - I mean the head of spec ops must have seen and done some nasty stuff...

Ok so I may have just embarrassed myself with the fan-spaz, but oh well

Anyways, Sides de-escalating Sunny was really well done in all the chapters so far - and he makes me laugh with all the slight rambles
jpgFury chapter 2 . 8/30/2015
The voice you write for Sunstreaker fits perfectly with how I think about him. It's all tangled and confused for him but he's not 'bad' - just lost when it comes to others. Like a kid who doesn't get why the others at kindergarten don't want to play when he just takes whatever he wants.

The other wee details you throw in make everything nicely rounded out and feel so much more realistic than many stories - off to eagerly read more!
NamiHello chapter 6 . 4/12/2015
This story is incredibly interesting. The characters are described really well, they are actually pretty realistic, and everyone has their faults in this, so its not like it's all heaping on Sunny like fics usually do...

Thanks for writing this! Even if you don't update again, it's enjoyable to read!
Neon chapter 6 . 3/21/2015
I just reread this a third time. It's quite amazing.
I empathize with Sunstreaker quite well– I have ADD, as does my mother. My brother is autistic and he also has Aspergers Syndrome.
Sunstreaker likes to be close, but he doesn't want to be held: it's restricting, it makes him feel too close. I feel the same: I am an introvert, but I would not deny wanting to be in a room full of people, so long as it's less than eight and no one is talking to me.
My brother is quite distant. He seems to process things differently. He actually taught himself how to read– he never spoke until he was three, after he drew on the wall with a marker. Sunstreaker is reportedly a painter by previous profession– perhaps he too thinks of things in a linear, visual way: what people say and do is how he thinks they think, because he himself is not adept at outwardly expressing himself.
Sunstreaker also seems to expect people to know what he's thinking, like myself. He believes that people should know what he's thinking because he can hear himself, and so should they obviously. But it doesn't work that way, and this upsets him to a degree. My brother and I are not good at using words– we get mad, get 'rockbrain' as my brother's school says, meaning that we are so stubborn we'd keep doing it till it destroys us. Sunstreaker is like this too.
I cannot truly comprehend how Sunstreaker or my brother think. They're far to complex, and too lost in they're own minds– my brother sometimes walks around making funny sounds. Most times he's probably reliving the Lego Movie or Terminator or something. While Sunstreaker obviously is not prone to this perhaps he has his own way of getting lost.
Anyway, rather personal review right there. As you can see, in viewing Sunny as autistic.
Update some day
minainthabox chapter 6 . 2/16/2014
Hey.
I just reread (again) your little story and i really wondered why you lost your Muse to continue it.
So I just wanted to say that I really like your writing style and this extraordinary storyplot.
But the best thing about this story is how you catch the essence of the characters and especially that of Sunstreaker and thats the reason i want to read more of it.
Because to be honest if youre searching a story with Sunstreaker here on FFN you will find nothing that comes close to your characterisation. Thats frustating me.
So maybe if I am lucky and your Muse shows up again... I would gladly write an other review of a new chapter.
Thanks.
spycat chapter 6 . 2/15/2014
I like the way you've portrayed Sunstreaker in this. It shows the many sides of him people normally don't see. I would like them to get together. Hope Hound is found soon.
jpgFury chapter 6 . 12/13/2013
OMG woman - why do you do this to me? your fics are so fantastic that I get totally invested in your world and characters, but then they stop... Uggggg. I'm so grumpy and frustrated right now! Sunny, I feel your pain
CuteAndUgly chapter 6 . 6/1/2012
Amazing!
OfTheFullMoon chapter 6 . 2/19/2012
Such an interesting story! I really like how you've portrayed Sunstreaker. I've always felt kind of sorry for him for not having any friends, even though he is an arrogant jerk. Any chance that you'll be adding to it anytime soon?
Lambor Terror Lep chapter 6 . 2/17/2012

obsessivesyndrome chapter 6 . 12/15/2011
