Wow! I loved this. It's so heartbreaking sad and sweet at the same time. Makes me wanna cry and smile at once. ;

Beautifully written, and you get inside Soubi's head really well. The image of him counting the minutes, trying not to go mad was exquisite, and I could feel the way he smiled when Yuiko sent him pictures and stories. Fantastic work.

Whoo ... wow. There are several things I love about this story. Let me see if I can articulate the more essential ones. First off, I am amazed at your vivid portrayal of so many characters, all seen through Soubi's eyes, and the way you seamlessly incorporated Yukio and Kio into a story that isn't really about them, but would have affected them both. Without making a big deal of it, you also manage to show how Soubi thinks about them, and how little of himself he shares with others. Soubi's constant, almost physical need for Ritsuka, coupled with his tentativeness, and the calculated restraint he shows to keep from embarrassing the boy, is especially heartbreaking. Your unflinching, offhand portrayal of a lonely person reaching for an addictive substance* to keep from reaching for someone he can't have is realistic in a way that cuts to the bone. It's so accurate that it hurts. I was especially impressed with the nuances you gave Soubi (as a character that wants to be ordered, and yet, often responds evasively to everything short of a direct command). It's something I'd sort of noticed about him without actually paying attention to. Also, you describe small gestures with incredible lucidity, like the way Ritsuka's fingers wrap around Soubi's wrist in the train station. The scenes come to life with incredible clarity, thanks to these wonderful details. It's fantastic how you show the thought process behind Soubi's taciturn non-answers; his "M"s and seemingly lighthearted remarks that really aren't. There's so much there, in his damaged psyche, and I think you unwrap it very gracefully. If there's one line from this story that haunts me, it's "Ritsuka's kindness is the sweetest cruelty he knows, one he wouldn't change, but it still aches and hurts, the way Ritsuka wants him to be someone rather than something ..." That right there feels like the very crux of what Soubi is: a person who sees himself as an object, doesn't know HOW to be anything else, and yet ... is human enough to love someone unconditionally. And, for their sake, to try. Faved. Loved. Will read other stories (and hopefully review) when time permits. I have to admit, I am fervently hoping you write more Loveless fics. This is one of the best I've found.

*before anyone goes "huh, drugs?" and flips out, I'm referring to Soubi's cigarettes.

This was so sweet! I loved how you had Yuiko report back to Soubi it's something she'd really do! I loved it when Ritsuka called him that was so sweet!

That possibly is the cutest and kinkiest story ive read. It's hard to find a story with both the cuteness factor and the sexiness 'get in my pants' factor! great job!

Wow! That was so well written and well thought of! I love all the little parts painting the bigger picture from when Ritsuka leaves to him coming back and in between!
