Reviews for Neon Genesis Evangelion: Redux
Xapa150 chapter 52 . 5/11
Gracias por tan hermosa historia
Guest chapter 20 . 5/8
Ever since chapter 10 and Rei losing her memories(Which considering he is essentially God, couldn't he just want her to have her memories back during a reset?) the fic went to shit. It just feels contrived and stupid ever since and I just can't like this anymore. What a waste of time...
Dimes4Crimes chapter 41 . 12/26/2019
Bud I have to say it. This story is so cheesy it hurts.
Guest chapter 39 . 4/27/2019
This story turned real fucking dumb from this point onward.
Mader Levap chapter 10 . 9/4/2018
This chapter is weak. It is so blindingly obvious and heavyhanded setup for Shinji x Asuka and that breaks pleasure from reading. Blergh.
Dragonjek chapter 52 . 7/9/2018
An interesting story. The entire period where they were up in the moon was weird as crap, especially the lack of information over the... whatever happened when Arael carted off Asuka.

Still, I overall enjoyed reading it.
Dragonjek chapter 43 . 7/9/2018
How does that even work, anyways?

I can see the bond forming between each set of lovers, but Kensuke never got to really know Rei enough to truly trust her enough to join in, and while Touji might trust Shinji and Asuka, it's extremely unlikely that he'd be able to trust Rei completely enough to take part in the bond.

Although I suppose it might be a bit different... if you have Touji participating by proxy through his bond with Hikari rather than actually being part of the larger connection, who also has a direct bond with Asuka and ShinjiRei, while Kensuke is basically hacking into it via an interface...
Dragonjek chapter 36 . 7/8/2018
"Part of her didn't like how this was splitting her command up. A well-oiled unit did not have cliques, or 'in groups.'"

Even without the telepathy that would be a problem though, wouldn't it? You have the veterans, the newbies, the newbies who learned the nice way, the newbie who was tortured to death (and who can't mesh with the vets because his one of them is his repeat killer). Add that to the telepathy, separation in the command is pretty much inevitable.
Dragonjek chapter 33 . 7/8/2018
Did Touji go insane during training?

Other than as a joke, what he went through hasn't really shown up or mattered at all, while the various emotional traumas and issues from other events (both in the fanfic and in canon) have been looked at a bit more seriously. Repercussions of that haven't shown up, he hasn't really reacted to other people not being tortured like he was, no real outrage over what happened, his fear of Ayanami was only a brief thing, and he was one of the first to die in the free-for-all against the Angel horde despite being the only one of the newbies to actually have training, experience fighting an Angel, or experience in real injuries.

It feels like you added in the brutal torture just to point out "hey, these guys have a amoral and inhuman streak to them!" without any lasting consequences (time travel having no consequences doesn't apply to other time travelers). Rei's torture scenes could have been entirely removed and from what I've seen it wouldn't influence the story or Touji's behavior at all. It just comes off as rather gratuitous, rather than something holding significance. I know I still have a good portion of the story to go, but still.
Dragonjek chapter 30 . 7/8/2018
I'm actually disappointed that Kensuke and Hikari got lighter training. I wanted to see what Asuka would say to Hikari when she approached her about being vivisected over and over again, or about Touji having the same happen to him.

Considering what could actually happen to them and the fact that Angels try to kill rather than draw things out, Rei's training was completely overboard and unnecessary. They can reset any death, so dying from Angels isn't a problem, and torture from someone you know-even if you don't particularly care about them-is exponentially worse. And what she did to him put him through more pain and cruelty than any Angel would ever do. The closest to his experience was Asuka, but even she didn't experience anything as bad as Touji did from Rei.

You said they were acting more like SEELE and the Angels, but they're rather worse than either except in regards to their ultimate goals.
Dragonjek chapter 28 . 7/8/2018
Wow. In terms of physical pain, Touji just went through worse than the entire rest of the cast did throughout the entire show.

Have they done this pain training on one another?
Dragonjek chapter 14 . 7/7/2018
ASUKA's not insane? Well, Shinji isn't either, but neither of them are stable at all. Asuka's just good at projecting a front of wellness (even to herself) because unlike Shinji who hides from contact for fear of pain, Asuka pushes people away for the same reason. It's because she's still really extroverted.
Blitzstrahl chapter 6 . 6/1/2018
Maya is a lesbian.
Aoba is the tall one, with long hair that likes music.
Hyuga is the one that wears glasses, and crushes on Misato.
Guest chapter 52 . 5/27/2017
This got really weird in the end. Were you on psychotropic drugs when you wrote the latter chapters?

It was really trippy.

I can't say I really enjoyed the ending too much as if felt sort of rushed and just chock full of strange.

Oh well, I enjoyed most of it so I guess I can rate reading this as having not been a waste of time.
soggy noodle chapter 39 . 5/26/2017
One word sums up how I feel about this chapter, or rather, what I felt this chapter was:

Strange.

The whole idea of actually sharing one body and soul with what was once two (three in Lilith's case) just kind of puts me off. Maybe I just can't completely wrap my head around it? Or maybe it's that I think that division is its own sense of unity between to individuals so in love with each other? After all, it takes two to tango and all that.

Oh well, moving onto the next chapter now...
