First of all, I'm a bit fan of your "Twilight" sporkings and have started on your fanfiction sporkings over on LiveJournal.

Anyway, this story is great. I like the characterization, especially of Tobias—you sort of agree with everything he says/thinks but can't help but be put-off by what a jackass he is. (I suppose Severus inherited a bit of that.) Nice work!

This is incredible. You created quite a few poignant images, Severus pretending to fly on a muggle broom, scooping up greasy chip flakes from a bag, and Eileen scrambling on her knees for her wand to defend herself. Tobias is a complete jackass but he's a jackass who cares for his son in his own way and this shapes Severus into the nasty piece of work we know him to be. This is almost fluff, if the fluff were soiled. There is real affection here but Tobias hasn't the ability or inclination to express it kindly. This is about poverty and miserable without monsters, everyone here is flawed, even repugnant, but still human.

One of the most touching fics I've ever come across. The characterisations were perfect: Eileen's resentment, Tobias' feeling of impotence and Severus stuck between warring parents...

I know this was posted like three years ago, but this is really good! Most people say that Tobias Snape was abusive. That's not always the case. Anyway, it was real good. :)

This oneshot is very well-written and so interesting ! For once Tobias is the "good" parent :p

I like how Toby is a good parent while Eileen is - not. Bittersweet and wonderfully done.

A nice twist that it is Eileen that is the alcoholic... and Tobias seems a nice enough fellow...

In an odd way (although it goes against my previous assumptions) you can see how Severus stumbled into the Death Eater camp searching for power and glory... and a way to make a name for himself based on this advice and encouragement from his father... it is sad... I'm sure that was not what Tobias intended for his son. And given the man's ultimate ending it's not just sad, but tragic. At least he ended up on the right side in the end, and was publically known for being an intelligent, brave, honorable hero - that's something, I guess.

This was nice to read, it gives me hope that I can still discover more about the character I love, even if it comes from another fan's imagination. We'll never really know all we want about Severus; Jo treated him like a plot device and never fleshed him out enough I think... and perhaps this is for the best for fanfiction fans like us...

Wow, this is great! I'm intrigued by the reversal of the usual fanfic cliche that makes Tobias the drunk in the family, and yet he's still rough and angry. The implied dynamic between the three of them is quite rich. I especially like the bit where he makes cheese sandwiches and tells Severus he has to pick his battles.

Wow, I really like how you separated from the normal plot line of Severus-Tobias fics. It's nice to read something different every one and and while. In fact, this is so well-written I'm favoriting it.

Interesting. I liked the interaction Tobias - Severus, especially how Tobias tired to teach Severus how to be more cunning ... obviously with success...

By the way, I think in all fics with Tobias in them that I've read so far he was the one who was drinking and made life hell for his wife, so it was interesting for me that you wrote it the other way around!
