anonymousme chapter 1 . 12/3/2018 was this friend a unicorn? oh, well, sad piece. and sort of representative for all of those who have fallen on the battlefield, or have watched others fall. some were strangers, and some we knew, and loved, as comrades in arms and as acquaintances, friends. those who sacrifice their lives fighting for, or simply believing in, what's right are those that are so often forgotten, even though they probably paid more for it than anyone else. although it uses narnian characters, i think that this is really just a tribute to all of those who have sacrificed doing what's right, whether it be for their country, their family, honor... and this would try to recognize them. rest in peace, all, both those who we don't know, and those we did. bless you. |

SummerMistedDragon chapter 1 . 5/3/2011 wow epic! |
Jazzcat chapter 1 . 9/19/2010 Wow. That was incredibly beautiful - a heartfelt and poignant eulogy to an unknown friend and a fellow patriot who gave his life for Narnia, for freedom. It reminded me of remembering 9-11, but in Narnia. Just when you had me convinced that the fallen creature was a unicorn, I found out - in the final paragraphs - that Oreius was speaking of a rhinoceros. The analogous descriptors you used - "But He left us – rumors flying around like gryphons that He was dead," as an example - made this story deeply Narnian by nature. Oreius' thoughts were profound, befitting a true Narnian centaur! Beautiful. Just beautiful. Blessings, Jazzcat |
Lady Katana4544 chapter 1 . 1/6/2009 This is really good and I really liked reading it! Its amazing how it really seems like Oreius is speaking to the reader with his thoughts and actions. Very amazing. |
forgiven77 chapter 1 . 10/14/2008 I like this piece..It's like Oreius was really there talking to us about the battle..I understand what it felt like having someone very important to you and never seeing the person and you're a little lonely about it and you realized you didn't know much of the person..It's sad..Anyway I like best the part where he saw the 'younger boy' and where he charged to save Peter who he 'come to love him for the boy he was, for the man he was becoming, for the king I hoped he would be.' Very beautiful..Keep up the good work.. God bless... |
Queen Su chapter 1 . 10/6/2008 This is really good! : ) I love it! : ) In Aslan's Name, Queen Su |
MerrytheHobbit chapter 1 . 9/25/2008 Very beautiful. I enjoyed this piece. |
King Caspian the Seafarer chapter 1 . 9/24/2008 Wow. That's really cool. I love the idea of Oreius thinking about the Rhino after the battle. That was a cool moment in the movie when they charge together, and you really put a lot of feeling into this fic. How sad, yet inspiring, that even though Oreius didn't know the Rhino, perhaps had never met him before, they both turned and faced death together. That's what they call courage. ;) Great job! Long live the Rhino, and let us all long to give our lives for our Narnia, and our Aslan. May the Lion be with you, KC |
JaggerK chapter 1 . 9/18/2008 Excellent job. Very moving. |
