Reviews for A Third Ending
Lucinda Hindle chapter 1 . 9/28/2017
Some of your stories are like a punch to the face after reading your crack! fics like the one with harry, Severus and an evil kitten along with a blood curling scream.
I wonder what that distraction was.
SANGO TAJIYA chapter 1 . 6/24/2017
Snape is so ridiculous full of bitterness and hate and more hate and I want to wring his evil little neck as much as I want to hug him. And then punch him in the throat. Love to hate that man.
Nadiafarjana chapter 1 . 11/12/2015
Good story
distorted-me chapter 1 . 8/29/2015
This is a very touching, very moving story. Severus is so often categorized as wholy evil or wholy good, and is never portrayed as what he really is...a man. Severus is good and evil, light and dark, all wrapped into one. He, like the rest of us, has his demons, yet he battles them so beautifully, and it's been a long time since I have seen his struggle captured in such a beautifully truthful story. Thank you.
whitehound chapter 1 . 3/17/2015
This is lovely - beautifully written. I have two quibbles with it, though. Even before DH came out it was fairly well established that Snape was more of a healer than a killer - we see him heal Draco; he seems to be the school's go-to healer for curse damage; he had no reputation as a Death Eater outside the Death Eaters themselves and his reputation among Death Eaters was of being all talk and no action; Rowling said at interview that he could see Thestrals because he had "witnessed things", not that he had done things; and even before DH it was also fairly obvious that Remus had been lying when he said that the cause of the enmity between Snape and James had been that Snape envied James.

It's made clear in HBP, for example, that far from being just a "little oddball" who envied James his high marks, Snape had been a star student (Sluggie uses him as an example of Potions excellence) and probably a member of the Slug Club. With the adventy of DH, of course, we can now see that James started bullying Sev out of mere house prejudice, and Rowling has said that his "relentless bullying" of Severus was motivated partly by James's own sexual jealousy over Lily.

But those two minor points aside, this is beautiful. Poor Snape is thinking they are despising him and seeing him as negligible when in fact they've just vaguely accepted him as a member of Team Potter - somebody you absent-mindedly fetch a plate of food for while he keeps watch - and he has been pardoned and rehabilitated without even noticing it.
yay chapter 1 . 11/4/2012
This is really nicely written, and everything seems plausible.
Elless chapter 1 . 10/24/2012
Good fic, it's nice to see the inner-workings of Snape's mind. I wish it'd be a little longer; I want to know his fate, but I like it nonetheless :)
Very Small Prophet chapter 1 . 6/15/2012
Good depiction of Snape’s emotions, though I don’t believe for a moment that Hermione is better at healing than the experienced Potions master and Dark Arts expert who kept Dumbledore alive for almost a year after he’d been cursed.

And of course, post-DH we know that it’s not true that Snape is of little importance compared to the Trio. He is of central importance to the Saga as a whole. If Snape had not loved Lily enough to beg Voldemort to spare her life, she would not have been offered the chance to “step aside, you silly girl.” Her death would have been simply a casualty of battle, like James’s, rather than a willing sacrifice. And it was that willing sacrifice which created the magic that protected Harry and defeated the Dark Lord the first time. If there had been no Man Who Loved, there would have been no Boy Who Lived.

I’m glad Harry got a chance to thank Snape. JKR gave him Harry’s second son’s middle name, but a personal thank-you is better.
sammyfish chapter 1 . 3/21/2011
Very angsty :)

I love all these one-shots - all so different, yet so well written, and so neat :)

Well done!
DeengoBlue chapter 1 . 1/10/2011
So many layers to Snape's hate...I can't say I'd ever put them into words or even thoughts, but when I read them here I thought, of course, of course: That's Snape. Well done.

(And I'm glad someone thanked Snape for what he did-for anything, really. Even better that it was Harry.)
baobabs chapter 1 . 12/21/2010
I-I-wow.

Really. What will the rest of us do with our demolished self-esteem?
Rainglyph13 chapter 1 . 7/23/2010
Wow, I am so in awe of your writing.
fragonknight01 chapter 1 . 7/13/2010
I quite liked this. It is so possible in a real way that is satisfying. I think that the books just kill people off because it is an easy way to deal with characters, and having Snape live and develop as a person would have been too difficult in the real series.
scorpioneldar chapter 1 . 10/18/2009
iteresting good story
bookivore chapter 1 . 10/13/2009
This is great. There is no way this particular story could be part of the 7th novel without extensive rewriting, but it works so very well with the canon characters that it's scary. To start with, nothing in HP was tight on anyone's POV except Harry's, so we're meant to be left floundering and ignorant to the end.:(

If you do ever get the urge to write something long, I for one would love to read it.
