Your writing is amazing! This is so well written, and I definitely agree that people see Lily as some sort of saint when in reality, she's only human.

It's funny but I always thought the same thing with Hermione. Everyone picture her as some kind of incredible prodigy and it dulls her successes. She discovered that Slytherin's monster was a basilisk ? So what ? She is a genius after all it's to be expected. She created the fake galleons for the D.A. during fifth year ? Yeah well she is a prodigy so it probably wasn't that hard for her. She fought in a war against a powerful dark lord while still a teen ? She never was in any real danger with how smart she is, she had to have some kind of amazing plan...
I don't like how people put her (or Lily) on a pedestal and made her some kind of icon instead of just being the teenage girl she was.

This is sooo, so good, and perfectly addresses something that has rubbed me the wrong way in the HP fandom since the movies came around. The movies didn't help matters with how they massively aged up Lily and James, but even before... It's such a thing in fandom to write Lily as this perfect angel figure and I hate it. She was a human, young, barely out of school. Let her have flaws.
