a very good story. Do wish that Jake had survived the shooting, though.

It isn't often that I have to fight tears reading a CSI fanfic - nicely done. I liked how Ryan's dog was integral to the plot.

awww. i didn't think i could be so emotionally attached to a fictional dog. i fell in love with jake throughout the story. it was very sad when he died but i love the epilogue. i'm so glad ryan got a new friend. it brought a smile to my face. i throughly enjoyed reading this story. i wasn't real sure about it in the beginning but i'm really glad i read it through. great story :)

I loved this story. I grew up with German Shepards and know what wonderful beings they are. My Great Uncle's dog, Lady, once leaped at someone she perceived as a threat to me when I was a baby. Uncle Roman told her to "Protect". Lady did and really didn't hurt anyone. Just scared them away. I used to sleep on her. She was a great dog. Then, once she and Lucky were gone, more Shepard puppies came and got to know the family and be wonderful family members. They have all passed since and I still hold them in my heart as wonderful beings. Shepards are the best, yet have serious and painful hip displasia when they get into their senior years.

I don't have a dog-friend. I have, well my folks do, a 25 pound Maine Conn cat that is all mush. Smart as a whip, but given to pamering and cuddling. I have a 7 year old bearded dragon that tells me what to do...oh, he so runs my life because he can't bear to be alone for two whole days... and a very patient, yet frighteningly curious 6 month old mouse. I'm worried that she's plotting to take over the world.

Yes, I cried during the last chapter when Jake-o gave his life for Amanda and Ryan's and I love the fact that Calleigh was sensitive enough to return the dying dog to Ryan's lap and then weep, herself, for the lost friend.

The neew pup was a great addition. Any sequels?

Ok, I admit it, I cried, then went on to fuss my own sofa hogging oversized lapdog. Brillaint story with enough friendship between the team members to make me grin from ear to ear. I'm so fed up with all the very many romance fanfics on this site, that everytime I come across one that sticks to friendships, while portraying the charaters so well and having a nice storyline, like this one I practically jump up and down in joy.

Very well written charaters, I've always seen Ryan as one who has or has the potential to suffer from anxiety attacks given his ocd tendencies and the defensive worrying nature we see on the show. The other charaters were also perfect, it can be difficult to portary perfectly the comforting but all knowing H, but you did well, as well as showing the slight tension that seems to be present between Eric and Ryan, and giving Calleigh the role of fullfilling the dog's wish, something I can really see her doing.

It was sad the dog died, but without that you wouldn't have been able to write that tear jerking perfect scene (tearing up just thinking about it). I hope you write more fics like this one, because I would certainly want to read them, particually ones with enough Ryan.

aw!you killed the doggie.i didn't like that!but the story is very sweet and heartwarming that jake would do that to protect ryan and ,for this story,i will give it...10 STARS! congrats,you have earned my respect as a writer and dog lover.i hope to see stories as good as this one from you soon.i will be watching for them.

enjoyed the story. However, the last chapter was too much dog and no Amanda. what happened to her? To the Yates? To her father?

Love the story but no offense...HATE the ending! Should have NOT make the dog died...I hate sad ending and would have known I would have skiped this story! Dont mean to sound rude but wy such a bad ending? Yeah ok the dog sacrificed his own life for his master but still crappy as the poor dog had to died... :( Therefore I hate the ending!
