For some reason I only discovered this piece a few weeks ago but I liked it so much that I already finished the whole thing. Fascinating story idea, well-developed characters and overall just very engaging and well-written. Hopefully you will the time and energy to finish this magnum opus soon!

Oh, goodness, Hal is so Henry's son. He's making such a hash out of this, and it's all going to go to pot, isn't it?

Ugh, God save us from hormonal teenagers. I really hope they just stop at a kiss. If they sleep together there will be no chance at all for Hal and Cathy. I really look forward to where you take this story. Also, I'm glad that you found a way for Edward to make progress reading.

I've gone back to re-read this since your latest update, and your note at the end, "before 2020" had me laughing. :) How time flys!

Edward with dyslexia, that's a very interesting concept! Poor boy, I hope they can come up with a method to teach him. I don't hold out much hope for that, considering how long it took for it to be diagnosed in modern times. He can still be an excellent king, but it would really help if he could read his own correspondence. I hope this does not come between Henry and Anne again.

I like this Jane. She's a realist who is making the best of a very bad situation. I hope for the best for her, which is a change for me.

I just found this fic and I've been reading it for the past few days. For the first time I feel compelled to comment here. I'm going to be much in the minority here, but I can actually understand Henry's reaction in this chapter. He's already jealous of his brother and feels overshadowed by him. Now he finds out that his wife is going on daily walks with Arthur and scheming with him without telling him about it, and even getting grand gifts from him! Most men would be upset and angry at these things. Anne should have kept calm and just talked to him about it. Threatening him was just stupid, there's no two ways about it. It was wrong of Henry to go running off to Jane, but he felt the need for validation that Anne just wasn't going to give him. Also, again being way in the minority, I think Anne completely overreacted when Henry slapped her. Yes, he shouldn't have done it, but it was one slap and he instantly regretted it. Men did a lot worse to their wives back then.
