AAANNNGGGSSSTTTT! SO MUCH ANGST! Agh! The feelings you just envoked! PERFECTION! I'm a bit mad at John for being so selfish.. After all.. Has Sam ever had a Christmas being as his mom died before his first Christmas? SAD! :'-(
supernaturalfan17 chapter 1 . 6/10/2010
Aw, that's pretty depressing. Great story though. I like how you went through and did each Winchester, not just one.
kalina-blue chapter 1 . 1/5/2009
How sad, but very well written. Good job.

Madebyme chapter 1 . 12/29/2008
Oh my goodness that was a beautifully written and heart wrenchingly excellent story. It's sad to think that the boys in all likelihood have never had a happy Christmas but still this story still manages to break my heart.

I loved the three different perspectives, all adding a little something to the story and that last line was fantastic, totally heartbreaking but wonderfully written.

I look forward to more of your work, you always seem to capture the boys so well. Take care and happy writing :-)
Tatsumaki-sama chapter 1 . 12/27/2008
Great job as usual! The Winchesters never get a break on Christmases, do they? Especially poor Sam. Some Christmas it was for the three of them, Sam in the hospital, Dean beginning to hate Christmas and John wishing it to be over. The last line particularly got me, with John realizing that one of them got their wish.
finchesteri chapter 1 . 12/27/2008
..."who visits a graveyard on Christmas?" It's actually a very common habit at least here where I live (in Finland). Almost everyone goes to the graveyard their family/relatives/friends are buried to lit a candle for them. It's very beautiful at night when there are thousands of candles.
reading chapter 1 . 12/26/2008
Oh, that was so hurty and good. Thank you for sharing.

"He thinks for a second it’s his dad or maybe Dean-who both get freakishly protective whenever anything even blinks at him-but the coldness of the grip tells Sam that maybe his dad and brother are right to be worried."

Perfect. Love that it's both Dean and John that Sam thinks are overprotective.
irismay42 chapter 1 . 12/25/2008
Why do we like to give the Winchesters such awful Christmases? But we do don't we? And I suspect most of them would be! I think you captured the spirit of the family perfectly - Dean presumably remembering those couple of Christmases with Mary and trying to recapture some of that in the stolen tree lights, while Sam can only remember the Christmas where he found out John had been lying to him all his life. And John can't see further than his own nose - he doesn't think he can have a family until he's avenged Mary, yet his boys are right there. Eesh. You really could just shake the man!

Interesting that Dean was romanticising the whole 'lone hunter' thing when being alone's the one thing he doesn't want in later life. I guess the reality didn't quite shape up to his imagination...
carocali chapter 1 . 12/23/2008
Finally, I get a chance to read! And what a cool take on 'a Christmas' for the Winchesters.

The three perspectives were a really nice touch. I like how you were able to get into each of their minds and unveil what they hope for for Christmas. My favorite line:

"It’s a simple hunt. In and out, easy as pie (Christmas is great for pie). So easy and clean, even Sammy’s going."

Ah, pie will never get old... :D

Thanks for taking the time to do this! Merry Christmas!

:D

Youngest Ones Rule chapter 1 . 12/22/2008
excellent as always... I love the different perspectives.
Rachelly chapter 1 . 12/22/2008
Yay Faye! An intubation limpSammy fic for Christmas! What a wonderful treat! And, as always, it is awesome! I love seeing the holiday season and Christmas through each Winchesters' eyes. The anticipation, the hope or lack there of, and then reading what actually happens. It is so sad to think our boys probably never did have a "good" Christmas. John was obsessed throughout their childhood and Christmas would be no different to him, Dean was clearly longing to be daddy's good little soldier (even wanting a gun) which is far from what most kids his age hope for, and Sammy, poor Sammy, just hoping for a book to get him through.

I liked how you set this up, too. Three wishes for Christmas from three different perspectives and only one comes true...John's...that it be over. Very dramatic!

Thanks for bringing us some holiday reading! As always, your writing is a treat!
