What a wonderful fusion tales, and your telling is lovely. Bravo!

It's the second or third time I've read this piece and I can't stop being amazed at how well put together it great story, I love how you made them parallel and entertwining and only partial, and yet perfectly coherent.

I'm so glad you wrote this story, just a few weeks ago I was reading a book about Vikings (HTTYD fandom has affected me), and it mentioned the historical King Edmund in your story. I am very glad you wrote this because now I've found out more about King Edmund - and I wasn't even trying! Thanks for writing.

Its odd, I have always jad a special place in my heart for the name Edmund. Both King Saint Edmund and Edmund the Just of Narnia, true story and true fantasy gave me that respect.

I think perhaps I subconciously melded them.

This was absolutely marvelous. Edmund's undying faith in Aslan is truly remarkable. And the way you interchanged the two stories, having the Badger tell the story in Narnia and having Peter tell the story in England, both at the same time. Wonderful. Maybe you could consider adding another chapter, or a separate story, where Peter and Edmund have a heart-to-heart about what happened. Great job! You are one of my favorite Narnia authors )

That would be so strange for Peter, telling a story so similar to something from Narnia. The mixing of the two stories is amazing, as is the story itself.

The parallel running of the two stories is splendidly achieved. And mixing up English medieval history with a story from Narnia is a magnificent idea, one which gives extra mysticism to both worlds.

This is great! I love how you have linked the two stories together and intertwined them so closely. It's true that speaking in front of your classmates isn't nearly so intimidating as speaking to diplomats who would make war on you. Peter's near-slip in calling on Aslan rather than Christ helped keep the recitation from being too...rote.

Thanks for mixing medieval English history with Narnia - I'm sure C. S. Lewis would approve!

Thank you for writing the Narnian portions in italics. Made the jumps much easier to distinguish while keeping the flow of the story. This was another great one!

Is it strange that I was actually looking for a story that somehow involved St Edmund? I'm so glad you wrote this. I've always been rather fond of Aelfric's Life of St Edmund (probably because he's my patron saint), and the way you combined my two favorite Kings/Edmunds/saintly(sainted?) figures is truly lovely. :-)

This was really good. I never knew that story, and you've just enlightened me. I really like the way you set it up too.
