Reviews for Riding Shotgun in the Sky
hunenka chapter 10 . 11/2/2014
I've been staying up way too late this past week because of this verse. I just can't stop reading this. It's breaking my heart more and more with each installment, but I just can't. stop. reading.
SuperVikinggirl chapter 10 . 7/23/2013
Well done! Very original and compelling! Thanks for the story!
Guest chapter 10 . 4/4/2013
WoW! All I can say is Wow!..Great writing..timeline would be better served as a little later in their lives, but definitely good.
Bloodmoon-Shinigami chapter 10 . 6/3/2012
Yet more wonderful from you. It shouldn't surprise me anymore how good your stories are. I loved that the brothers tried to take a break and actually, eventually, got to relax some and swim and visit a museum.' I loved it they Sam rode the bronco! Would have died to see Dean on it before the leg was an issue. Should look to see if Jensen has ever done that...on video...he IS from Texas. *grin*

I was so hoping Dean would pull the 'I'll quit if you will' card at some point. Now they can help each other, which always works better then one nagging the other.

I enjoyed the clues you tossed the audience so we had a chance to try to figure it out before the boys.

Can't think of anything else to say. It was all pretty satisfying, really. Hope all is well for you!
Bartlebead chapter 10 . 11/15/2010
Really good! Thanks so much!
Bartlebead chapter 1 . 11/15/2010
Good writing, makes me want to continue with the story. The characters are true to the originals, the pace is good, suspense building. Thanks!
NongPradu chapter 8 . 7/27/2010
God this 'verse is amazing! I've been ploughing through, reading the whole series in fits and starts at home and on breaks at work! lol.

I should be reviewing a hell of a lot more, but that'd take precious time away from READING. lol.

It's just brilliant (this story in particular with the dead grandson - so freaking tragic and well paced and PERFECT!).

*sighs contentedly*

Now must get back to reading. :)
Rosetta Brunestud chapter 10 . 6/16/2010
Great *-*

I hope both of them can stop the addictions lol

Well, hope to read more of your stories soon ~

amyblair chapter 10 . 6/13/2010
This was just phenomenal. I loved every minute of it.

The hunt was great, I loved that Steven's Grandmother was introduced to us right away and we'd already seen the shrine and then had to connect the dots. What an interesting way to go - flying off a balcony. You made it sound so freeing, romanticized it perfectly. I almost wanted to take the plunge.

I thought the moment Sam came back, saw his brother on the ledge was thrilling and I loved how even as he's dragging Dean back, Dean is still trying to leap. The drinking/smoking thing was very painful to watch with both boys. It's hard to have so much pain in life and not have an addiction/a crutch to lean into. Most times, of course, being something that is very 'bad' for us.

When my mom died song she sang to me the day before she passed (not that she was much of a singer but she was at home with hospice and was in so much pain) was "I'll Fly Away". It was such an important moment, I always felt and it felt odd reading it in your story. This season, on the Show, it was weird enough hearing "O' Death" (again, from O' Brother) but then reading this, gave me chills.

Your pain is definitely palpable in this. I love how you write AU, but yet you tie in so many things that have happened to the brothers on the show, even if if didn't happen the way we all remember it happening.

Lovely job. Totally enjoyed.
AquarianNightSky chapter 10 . 8/12/2009
That was really good. I actually had it figured out before the guys did. I'm off to the next one.
Marlowe97 chapter 10 . 7/28/2009
God, you really like to f* up the boys, don'tcha? Not that I'm complaining, no way! I... don't know, but somehow your verse makes perfect sense to me - and it keeps me hooked, like Dean to the ciggies. (I don't like him smoking so much, but... it adds a certain credebility I never would have expected)

Short: I loved it. I wished Dean would have a chance for a little recoverie (just a little...), but there you are - life is a b* and s*s out loud. I really, really enjoy your fics, every one so far (even those I didn't review), not only because of the strangely strange and yet absolutely fantastic AU, dense and believable athmosphere and even (hoorray!) a good plot, but also because you create two different characters without changing too much and without making them... well 'different'. Huh. Doesn't make sense, does it? Anyway. Great read. And I mean GREAT!

I'm really sad to see this story ending - you did such a wonderful job here, although it's AU everything is so in character and i like how you take the time to describe the little things, like sam thinking of jess and dean's eating.

I hope you give us another story soon, with john returning? there is so much you can do with this verse, i'm very exited about it!

take care;-)
K Hanna Korossy chapter 10 . 2/28/2009
Another great addition to this universe. You write it so matter-of-factly, it feels like "of course it happened that way." And I love your little details, as always: Dean knowing how to shop, pie restoring Dean's appetite, the peanut butter, Sam having been counseled at school, Marcella, the Tex-Mex place, the incredible way you describe the tiny grain of hope that Dean will wake up one morning and be better, and the soul-grinding anchor of chronic pain. Great story but even better texture and characterization.

The addictions are kinda breaking my heart, though, and while they're so a part of the guys in this world, I can't help but hope they eventually move past them (what happened to Dean's nicotine gum, anyway!). And I can't help but keep hoping they'll run into something supernatural that will just heal Dean, maybe going to Hell and coming back with a new body. I know it's probably as unrealistic as Dean's tiny hope, but I can't help but still hope for his sake, too.

Lovely work.
Kasman chapter 10 . 2/28/2009
Nice to have a happy ending after all that had happened in this one.

Looking forward to your next offering and like I said on LJ, I'd love to see another "actual episode" Drive-versied. :D
