This was a thoroughly enjoyable alternate universe, particularly because there were no betrayals :) I love happy endings (even if they never ended up making the key after all)! Wow. It's not a phenomenal, angsty, amazing, awe-inspiring Au fanfiction... but I absolutely LOVE IT! It's written well, for one thing, and it makes that entire movie all the more simple! (See all the good that can happen when characters think logically? Lol) So good job, and happy writing!

Honestly, the whole making-a-copy thing was what I originally expected to happen in the movie. Why else would you have such a perfect rubbing and then just happen to meet up with a good blacksmith? I was so disappointed when that didn't happen.
