I LOVE THIS! This whole story is brilliant. Barbossa's always been a sexy beast, but oh my god! And the arguments crack me up because they remind me of my husband and his own headstrong southern beast, rofl! Whole thing was brilliantly written and the characters were realistic. Terrific read!

I think you have a definite gift of explaining and describing emotions and motivation, as well as painting an engaging thought process. I've enjoyed a great deal to observe Barbossa's gears turn. You’ve shown definite goodness in him, yet he is still VERY MUCH a pirate.

As always, an excellent work on clever innuendos and naughty sentences.

I thought this chapter was gonna be the ultimate Barbossa smutt fest, but I digress, it was awesome. I was shocked to see you updated but super happy. Hope it's not another few months before I get to read the next chapter. Its too good of a story.

The conversation between Barbossa's conscience and his, um, other parts was masterful. That chapter had me giggling shamelessly.

How many sea faring innuendoes did you find for that episode? I was quite beside myself about a quarter of the way through - "Oh, but how he wanted to navigate south, with the determined way his compass was now pointing north." "Firing all guns and breeching her hull is not a good idea!"

And then: "Fuck!" he swore under his breath in frustration.

This was hilarious, but at the same time managed to be quite touching. The ending line was lovely. Subtle and sweet. It made me feel really pleased for the two of them. I liked how you kept drawing parallels between May and the type of wench Barbossa usually beds, showing how different and special this really was.

Is this the end, or can we look forward to more wickedness?

You know, I love this series (you know I do, anyway) and each chapter dutifully reminds me why. The inner conversations between Master Barbossa and... Master Barbossa Jr. :P are pants-pissingly hilarious, and the occasional jab by his conscience adding a third voice makes things very interesting indeed - and the plays on words are just delightful ("It's carpe diem and you should stow your carp for a bit longer!" :D). Not to mention that every now and then, "man, beast and conscience" are genuinely touched by May's innocence and willingness and genuine love, which makes things much more complicated (for a first time) but oh so much more interesting :o)

Also, I love that for all the steamy lust and the delightful euphemisms, this is "just" the build-up, and you leave what happens between man and woman when the masks fall and the banter is over to the readers (admittedly quite filthy :D) imagination. It's like, after showing us a window into Barbossa's soul (and sexual turmoil) you leave the two lovers and respect their privacy, and that's kind of very classy :o]

I love this series, really. And I hope to read some more :o)

This whole chapter was incredibly well done, heart stopping and sexy at the same time!

The beginning, when you go in depth with the scene with Stoker, was utterly amazing. I love all the thoughts that run through Barbossa's mind. About him loving her, then quickly turning into jealously with his thoughts on Bellamy, then finally realizing that it was farthest from the truth, and that May was indeed in trouble.

"Furious that anyone would dare hurt her, and feeling overwhelmed with the need to protect her as Stoker sliced open the bodice of her dress, something very dark and primitive reared up within him, snarling ‘woman mine!’ as his hand went instinctively to his dagger."

How amazing that Barbossa is sometimes 3 I think that this is still one of my favorite scenes. He did so much to save May and just the realization of his feelings for her really brings it all together nicely.

I have to say, I'm immensely proud of you for writing a scene about Barbossa conversing with his penis.

I am entirely too flattered than I should be to take the blame for this lovely and pants-pissing-funny bit of conversation :D I adore this. It reminded me somehow of the best bits in the "Austin Powers" films, and I mean it as a compliment (since I've heard a bunch of people dismiss those movies as silly and vulgar and useless).

Really I just love seeing Barbossa squirm and try to hide the mighty beast raising its head like any teenage boy who has yet to learn how to make "it" behave in polite society. For a moment, though, the treacherous thought sneaked into my mind that after the events of "A Single Night of May" Barbossa's fantasies may be less... let's say wild and unbridled... But I quickly shook that thought off, because not only will he have *concrete* memories to dwell on, he also will be salivatin' at the thought of what they should be doin' next! I know I would.
