I actually like the development they did with Phoenix getting disbarred. It changed his demeanor drastically and he matured and hardened insurmountably. I had always wondered what happened to Maya after the last case of T&T and the issue of her needing to train to become the master is something I can definitely see as canon. I also love how you mixed in the narumayo, making it even more painful for the reader to read since they already know it will be about 7 or 8 years before they reunite (in Spirit of Justice) Excellent writing, loving this story so far.
