Reviews for Songlines
Dome of Bones chapter 1 . 5/12
You may be long gone, but if you ever do check , I sincerely hope you see this: this may be one of the best fics I've read on here.

The way you take a complete nothing character, and derive so much depth from him, with a completely unique and original premise, an unforgettable setting and despite little character interaction, so much said in what few there is.

This fic makes me care about Blackout. It makes me want to actively see him more, what he does with this newfound experience. It's really a shame this is a one-off, and even more that it's not an official Transformers product. It accomplishes so much in so relatively little wording.

I love all of it.
AshMountian216 chapter 1 . 11/14/2016
This was a really really good story. I love how you gave Blackout some character and how he interacted with the natives. It's sad they passed :'( but I'm glad you kept him alive and reunited with Scorponok. Bet it would be fun to know how Barricade takes the news lol
unun-hex chapter 1 . 7/16/2014
I don't even like Transformers, but damn... this is truly well-written. Probably one of the best stories on here.
Httw chapter 1 . 11/13/2012
I read this a long time ago and was blown away. Somehow I lost track of this story, but after many years I have managed to find it again! And it is still so great!
JenEvan chapter 1 . 4/16/2011
While the happy ending of the cute drone reuniting with its master gave me all the fuzzy and fluffy feeling, Blackout's journey have been the most interesting, and left us with much to think about :)
KnightDweller chapter 1 . 1/17/2011
as far as I can tell, you got all of it right. I myself am Australian and I love reading fics that a based in Australia. it's funny that the movie got it wrong. you'd think they'd do some more reasearch. It's hard to come across fanfiction like this where it's more spiritual and deep. I love you portayel of Blackout. I'm pretty sure this is the third time i've read this fic

Ell Bee Someone Else Now chapter 1 . 11/14/2010
Quite the lovely little meditation on loss and exertion.
MountFury chapter 1 . 4/25/2010
Fantastic! I forced myself to stay awake to finish reading this, I loved it! You are a teriffic writer, I look forward to reading more of your work!
Rio Voltaire chapter 1 . 1/22/2010
Wow, that was a touching story (for me anyway...might have something to do with the fact that I'm Australian but oh well.) After reading a bunch of humor fics about the 'Cons this was a nice change.

Blackout and Barricade are my two fav on my 'Con list. Scorponok and Frenzy are up near the top as well.

Is anyone else confused when you read a fic and there's a bloody heap of 'Cons starting with B's? I always get them mixed up *sigh*. Same with Shockwave and Soundwave...
Optimus Bob chapter 1 . 11/10/2009
Oh wow... this was a really original piece of fiction. I don't care if you've used information from movies and books and such, who doesn't? But this is good, it's well written, it's moving, you capture Blackout nicely and only one other Author I've read grabs me like this when I read. Thank you this is a good story. I hope to see more from you!
antepathy chapter 1 . 11/9/2009
Thank you for posting this story where a relative newcomer can find it-it's hard to wade through the schlock to find the real gems. This story is just...amazing. I should be seething with envy. (I kinda am-sh!)

Wonderful details, character that actually changes, gripping plot... Just...terrific! Thank you so much for sharing this story!
Taipan Kiryu chapter 1 . 10/4/2009
It’s always a pleasure to find such a deep and well written story as this one.

Fanfiction can be a playground, but it can also be a place for reflection. Blackout’s inner journey was enlightning. Through a slow and detailed narrative you managed to reach outstanding moments, such as those native women painting Blackout, one of the best images I have ever read in fanfiction.

Truly delicious fic indeed, and yet I felt sadness since the beginning of this story; not the kind of sadness that expresses itself with tears, but the other one, the one that is no stranger to smiles, the one that makes you realize is not fair to leave the real songlines behind. Life is very fragile at the end, wheter you are made or steel of flesh.

I’m glad you were tricked by a certain ROTF trailer and actually believed Blackout had made it. Keeping him dead would have been a sad but beautiful ending, but I’m glad you decided to let him live. He was the first "real" Transformer to appear in the widescreen. Just for that, he deserves to live forever in in the fictional universe as well as in our imagination.

Many thanks for this story. The minutes of pure joy reading it are priceless.
DarkSunRaven chapter 1 . 9/4/2009
Wow this has got to be the best transformer fic I have EVER read! I’m so happy on how it ended (I don’t think I could handle blackout dieing ... again) lol I loved the thought of people drawing on him on him (and in my mind I think he would look cool with tattoos)thank you for writing the story!/_\
roo17 chapter 1 . 7/18/2009
One of the best stories of Blackout I've read so far! It was extremely well written! :D
Talonpaw chapter 1 . 6/26/2009
That was amazing! Did the tribe really get washed away?

I really love Blackout and Scorponok. And I was so happy when they brought back Blackout! Only to have his head... argh. ;-;
