I think I might read this again and think more about it to fully understand what happened. I'm pretty sure this will be a great example of "fridge brilliance" soon as I'm not as sleepy as now. Apart from that, you've got some mad writing skills there! I really enjoyed this, specially how delicate it was.

But you have such skill, to write this fic so well and keep me in suspense till the end, so good to read. I totally thought Ciel was just, well, being CIEL, then I thought maybe something was wrong when Finnian appeared and at the end I was like 'O.O'.

I normally try to avoid angst, but... guh. You write it so, so well.

Not having a soul doesn't necessarily mean you're dead, possibly just an empty shell. So is that why his hair is long and his body is still intact?

I feel like crying, Sebastians love for his master made him keep Ciels body.

I didn't get it the 1st time but after thinking about it, I understand it, Ciel was dead from the start of the story for a year. Sebby was just thinking/pretending he was alive to the rest of the mansion.

It's amazingly well written, completely fooled me but makes perfect sence when you re-read it.

This kind of reminds me of "in the closet" by michiru. Not saying that you plagiarized, not at all. But that both of the content was almost the same, and both superbly written. If you have a chance I definitely recommend for you to read it. Even though, its in the Harry Potter fandom with Harry/Draco.

Anyways, back to your story. Loved how you used Finny. His almost innocence contrasted so heavily with the dark content of the story. Really, I was surprised as Finny when the door opened and Ciel was like that. I love how Sebastian always have such a hard time letting go and how he makes up Ciel's actions because he's so deep in denial. Gawd, Sebby why are you such a lonely, lonely demon?

Un. So. What the heck happened to Ciel? When I read that Ciel's eyes are lifeless, I guessed that he's dead, but when I re-read it once again, he blinked (right? I'm not too sure though). This was a really beautiful story. I think it portrayed Sebastian really well, his gentleness and his ultimate dedication and devotion to Ciel. I think I must be morbid but I really loved the whole idea of the story and how Sebastian kept Ciel's body even after he sucked the soul out of him. I'm pretty much rambling here.

I just have to say that the whole story felt very comfortable and soft, like a familiar childhood teddy even though it had such a dark theme underlying. I especially loved the last scene.

... So the soul was not there ...

... But the body, you said the hair went all the way to the waist of Ciel's, right? ...

... and it's been 12 months, a normal hair (especially males) grew fast ...

... Err in other words I am half confused, so Ciel's body is not um rotting, right? but... the soul is no longer there... ...

... And.. You do remember Ciel died at the um River ( Water, he fell) And lost his body, right? (Hmn, Seb and him reached the surface so I am not really sure) ...
