Song fics are quite the monster. They can be very easy if you find the perfect song to match the song or they can impossible. I can see why the chapter came directly from the song where sometimes you match the song to the chapter.

Very revealing that you focused on lost time or to be more specific lost chances and looking back at them.

Cody taking this heart seems so like him. Between the lost promises and dreams, he would take it so hard. but thankfully Bailey was there to let him see there's more to it than lists of things to do. Its the journey and the people we take it with.

I wish it was a little longer and more detailed but it was still pretty good.

I must say this piece speaks a great truth, not only for those who have, shall we say, advanced in years, but to all of us who travel through the road of life, and glance back at the dreams we had left by the wayside. We think about that special someone we never dared to ask such a simple question, or the friends we let slip through the memories of long ago. We all have such grand dreams to see the world, to see our loved ones shine in our care, yet we forget the simple things. The dance, the kiss, and the sweet words pouring through our spouses mouth, these are what truly bring joy to our lives. Dreams may come and go, but love shall remain, something you show wonderfully here.

At first I wasn't sure if it was Bailey as his wife or someone else. But when I read Mrs Bailey Martin I was like yay!

It reminds me of the theme in the movie "Up".

That was good, and I'm sure a way many people feel. Yea, it's mushy, but done well. I love using songs for my stories, and it is done well here. It may not be the exciting life they had dreamed of, but they had each other through it all.

That was so beautiful! It's kind of sad that Cody would have so many regrets over his life, but since he always has such high expectations, it's also believable. At least he has someone loving and supportive to help him keep things in perspective :)
