One of my favorite stories

You write some of the best Emergency stories that I have ever had the supreme pleasure of reading! You beautifully capture each character, and the depth of their love, and concern for one another, especially when it comes to the brotherly bond that exists between Johnny, and Roy! Thank you so much!

Personally, I LOVED how you didn't just put Johnny right back into work, but let him go through the loss and deal with the realistic feelings of fear and the nightmares that many FFs have to deal with. As a FF Chief's wife who has watched him deal with 25 yrs of these things, and before that, his Dad was 30 yr prof, now retired, and lastly; our older son for the past six yrs (one yr as a JrFF)... there's alot they go through that noone other than the FFs themselves will talk about. Our son was the first person on the scene of a very bad schoolbus accident out by us, and it was national news then. Six small wheelchair-bound chilren died in that, and one of the vehicles hit also had one of our own FFs in it. Once more help got there, they pulled our son off the front line...and he still deals with the things he saw that day and had to do alone till others finally got there. And he STILL wants to be a FF/EMT/PM ! So you can see I really DO understand this story ! There really are ALOT of HEROES out there like Johnny Gage ! I thank the actors of the show itself for bringing that to light, AND...for making me fall for Firefighters- and I end up marrying into a family of them and living that life ! Who knew ?! (GOD did!)

Ginger, you write so well. You characters are real and true to form, your stories are exciting, the pace is just right...

and I really enjoy the comraderie and friendship that exists between the guys and Cap's care about John, his "son."

This is a great story! Johnny was always thinking of ingenius ways to accomplish the rescue. But this ending is where he should get a medal. Off duty, still injured and going into a burning barn w/o any protective gear-yeah, he gets a medal. Shame about the horse.
