Short, but refreshing. You're right, Isshin really fits the role of an ex-Squad 10 captain. Hitsugaya's young, so he couldn't possibly have been a captain for too long.

The interaction between Isshin and Hitsugaya in this is vaguely reminiscent of that between Kyoraku and Nanao, minus the romantic overtures. It's the same kind of goofy behavior on the captain's part, and the same kind of cold irritation on the lieutenant's part.

The exchanges were good. "Don't be so sure about that, Kurosaki-taicho" - indeed.
