As for random fanfic references: the other ones are fine. This one isn't. I could totally see the other ones in canon. But being tortured on Earth? It's definitely not canon, and not dragonball-esque either. It just reeks of "off" fanfics.

I love the argument with 18. It's my fav part of the story.

I certainly enjoy the story, but I feel like it is a bash-fic to some extend. Goku's actions are a bit exaggerated. And certain bad points are exaggerated, while good points are downplayed.

Of course, Goku being forgetful and childish is very accurate. But he doesn't just swoop in at the last minute and play being a hero. He is a hero (sort of). He wasn't "late" to the saiyan fight (I think). He had trouble travelling back, and the saiyans were early (once again, I think).

He has also made a lot of questionable decisions, like making his 11 year old child save the world, and making 2 7 year olds fight buu. Yeah, not exactly a good parent.

I like this story. I know that it is only a plot device, and it doesn't really matter, but... If it takes them an hour to travel 2000 km, they fly really slowly. That's like Mach 2.

i loved this! It was so cute and perfectly in character. There were some parts of it that were so funny i snorted wine up my nose (which hurt like a bitch but oh well) and I'm going to check out the rest of the one shot referenced here!

I can't even begin to tell you how much this story has been punching on some key experiences in my life from Goten's perspective. That talk he had with Piccolo and Vegeta spoke volumes to me and I had to pause to calm my overwhelmed heart from tears running down my face. I love how this fic is connected to your other brilliant DB fics so the flow was flawless. great characterization and respect all over. you are a magnificent talented writer.

Whew that was an abrupt end. Good story. I was afraid it turn into a Goku bashing fox but it seems to have strayed from that. Great character development. Good in character Vegeta. It was nice seeing Goten and Vegeta have some sort of relationship.

Tbf Gohan probably had a worse childhood than Goten, wouldve liked to seen a discussion between the brothrs.

very brilliant written love the all of it the emotion and sacrafice and saiyan talk. it was very in character and canon it explains goku behavior and having change. because if this is truly real i would definetly feel bad for goku's family.

I can't with Vegeta and Bulma, haha! They must have the best sex lives.

Well said, Vegeta.:) Goku's own friends kind of failed him. If they had reminded him that he had a family to take care of as much as they praised him, maybe Goku wouldn't be in the position that he's in. It's almost like they don't care what happens in his personal life as long as he saves the Earth, therefore saving them.

The argument between Bulma and 18 crack me up. And I loved the conversation between Goten and Piccolo as well as Goku, Gohan, and ChiChi. There was so much truth thrown at Goku and you would think he'd see the light and try to make amends with his family but once again, he's gone.:( But like his family, I'm also used to. I'm still hoping he left to think everything over and set his priorities straight.

You're an amazing writer. All the characters are spot on. You also wrote their emotions in a way that feels very real and believable. I absolutely loved little Bra defending her father; so cute! And I feel kind of sorry for the Son family.

Haha, loved Piccolo's reaction to Vegeta using Instant Transmission. Vegeta is such a jerk but he keeps it real so it's hard not to like him. I laughed when he piss Tien off.

I would hate this part of Goku where he acts like he doesn't have a family but I can't bc to me, he just wasn't meant to be a family man. If he didn't know what marriage was but did it anyway bc he made a promise, who's to say he didn't later on promised ChiChi children w/o really knowing the responsibilities that came with it? Gohan is lucky to have had Piccolo.
