Several times in the story , you said loose when you really meant lose. These are two different words and should be used accordingly.

LOOSE (loos): verb. To release something. Generally written as "loosen," these days. (Also, adjective. Something that is not tight.)

LOSE (looz): verb. To misplace something. Also, to be forced apart from someone, causing great emotional turmoil. (This is the word you want.)

Please fix your title, and any other places where you've confused these two words.
