Wow… I have to say, this story was very painful to read… and yet, at the same time, beautiful. The main reason, I think, is that your writing is truly exceptional. The way you wrote Matthew was like I could feel his emotions… his hopelessness, how broken he was at the beginning… and the way he was so surprised when people started being nice to him was simply heartbreaking. Of course, as a reader I immediately understood that Matthew was Alfred’s lost brother, but the fact Matthew didn’t felt so real… and his acceptance of being only a replacement so sad… I truly loved the ending, too. It made me hope that things can slowly get better for Alfred and Matthew. Thank you for this wonderful work! (and in case you still read reviews for this, sorry for my English, it’s not my first language)

Beautiful, but sad. Is it okay if I write a story based off Al getting his brother out of prison and living with him, as well as why he was in prison in the first place? It would talk about his life in prison, just him being taken away by Alfred from it, which would only be five hundred words at most. Would absolutely love a prequel (or sequel!) to this, a really tantalising glimpse at something horrible that happened to Matthew! Thanks for writing this, interesting read!

Like a lot of your stories, if you made it longer it would be a lot better. Where was Mattie's prison? How did he get there? How did Alfie get his glasses?
All the same, a lot sweeter of a story than your usual :3

al;skdfjawlekjr WHY DOES THIS NOT HAVE MORE REVIEWS?! I liked it. It was well-written, and even if it seemed a little bit rushed (to me, anyway) at the end, it got the point of the plot across in an incredible way. I think that it could have been explained at the end of the story in an author's not why Matthew was in prison or it couldn't. It adds a nice bit of mystery and imagination. I applaud you for this brilliant story. :D
