Mal & River are made for each other! I'm really sad it end like this, I thought you were gonna give us another chapter.
Plus, I always knew that Mal & Inara wasn't made for e/o. And The actress who plays Inara says her character was ill & hinted that her character was supposed to die from it.

Other than river using "I" to speak of herself, which I am assuming you are using to show she is more grounded now than after Miranda.
They are really all very well characterised and well written and it would be a shame not to see the end :)

Wow. Any time line where Wash isn't might not have captured me, but you've got me by the feels! You played all parts humour and sadness fluidly and effectively. I'm excited to read the rest of this.

I thought the beginning of this story started out strongly with the crew mostly in character and a bit of humor. Enjoyed it.

But I have to admit this foray into River/Mal romance left me cold in the last chapter. It felt forced and unnatural. I can buy Mal as a friend, confidant, or father figure to River but as a lover? Can't do it. Mal is too much the hardened veteran and father to his crew to indulge himself like this.

Whatever. I know this story is aimed at a different audience them me and its well done enough. Just not my cup of tea.

This is very well written, you make me almost believe it. While I have a different view of the verse it seems, I appreciate a well written story.

How did Rriver scare Mal?

There aren't words to describe how much I enjoy this story, you've done the characters such justice and your interpretation of a mourning Zoe is the best one I've read. I really hope you update soon, I seriously cannot wait for the last chapter this is just great ugh I can't articulate my feelings for your story. It's great, you're great, mal/river is great 3

This story is amazing. It is well thought out and written beautifully. I love how you wrote the characters. They are all perfectly in character and the dialogue between them is wonderful. There is only one thing wrong with the story and that is that it isn't finished yet! :) please post the last chapter to this wonderfully created piece of art. Many thanks if you do.

loved zoe 's part that was so her just flat out tell mal to go for it then scold him for inara. most people always put him and inara together but i have never seen it he needs someone to stand beside him not hide behind him
his war will never be toataly over with and neither will rivers
