I really liked the bit about how Spock is a conductor - that was a very fitting and cool metaphor! Thanks for writing this!

Okay, so I admit the ambiguous ending makes me a bit restless (but I think the situation permits that Spock hurt, Jim worried...) but on the other hand it's simply perfect the way it is. You really managed to express the thoughts and feelings of the characters really well and there's that little something that makes the story *powerful* somehow, similar to how some stories make me feel as if someone punched me in the gut, only not quite as intense.

Not to mention I think you managed to show the characters' personalities exactly the way the movie showed them; similar to those from TOS, but yet different in so many little ways that you can immediately tell them apart.

Well, it turns out I don't like ambiguous endings. I like the ones that say "...and they lived happily ever after." I loved the rest of it - I think you really captured what I would imagine is the dynamic of their relationship. Still, I'm left unsettled by the ending, even if I pretend that after they got to sick bay everything was fine and dandy and they all learned a valuable lesson about the value of friendship and loyalty and not underestimating how dangerous arrows can be.

Very well done, very descriptive. You capture the characters well and give an interesting view of the relationship between Kirk and Spock. Would like to see a longer ST fic from you.
