I've dropped in on this story so many times over the years, catching up again and again. I've probably read the first half more than even you have. First found it when I thought "I wonder if there's any Ichi/Sode" many years ago. Just about the only such story at the time. Fortunately it was a brilliant one. This has been one of the handful of stories that keep me coming back to the site every now and then. A little sad that it's over but I'm glad that it did actually end rather than simply dying off.

Alright NZ, I've gotta be real with you. I haven't read very many pure Bleach stories (by choice), but I have come across some good ones. With that being said...

This is definitely one of the best Bleach stories I've had the pleasure of reading.

I have never read a Bleach story (crossover or otherwise) that emphasizes the Zanpakuto's point of view, let alone a deeper character development with them. I've never even seen the Zanpakuto's typical role expounded like this, to the point that they move and make decisions so independently (like Zangetsu and Hyouinmaru for example). This really had me thinking man and it really makes sense. Why wouldn't Zanpakuto spirits be so independent? That kind of development was a well-put staple for this story and it was good on how dynamic the characters and their situations became. I always appreciate a good character and plot development. So thanks NZ, this was really a good read.

This is one of my favorite stories by far. I only wish there were less time skips and it was a bit more drawn out. Either way I have no complaints and I was glad to see it finished.

I must say this was a bit of a twist. You of course have violated the canon of how the zanpaktou's work, but that is the wonder of fan fiction. The positing of a what if. Sometimes it is what if a character made a different decision, or sometimes it is a what if zanpaktou's could actually leave one wielder and go to another under the right circumstances.

I felt the elements of romance leading up to the last two chapters, but there was a disconnect between what you previewed in chapter 28 and what was written in chapter 29. I am sure that years passed and you moved beyond what you had initially planned to do. This was a terrific story. Thank you for finishing!
