This is a good story. For some reason I am feeling weird about Sam and Cassie too. Like she is off limits since she is Dean's true love. Then again, they seem so right for each other. And Lilly! I can picture her, vividly, from the description you gave and can insert Dean's attitude into her! Cool kid! I can't wait to read on. Thank you.

probably not the place to share, personal stuff.. but, my cousin married her best friend's widower - the friend died in childbirth - when his daughter was 3. She and her friend grew up together. the little girl loves that her mommy knew her mother and can tell stories and show old pics of the 2 of them together.. maybe why I found this so moving, because I have seen that it is hard to get past remembering the one that's been lost, while loving the same "someone" s/he loved.

I would love to see this as an 'alternate reality' type episode - a "wonderful Life" type of thing: dean felt things would have been better if Cass never pulled him out. It would be good to see dean watch the whole thing and go from possessive of Cassie to happy she and Sam found each other.

The only glaring omission is Bobby would have made a feisty "gramps". He 'adopted' Sam and Dean; I am sure he would feel a connection to their kids.
