Cool. Love reading an Ethan fic without involving Marnie, just a nice, introspective one. You, my fine author, have done well. Kudos. And I love how you wrote his contempt for not only his father, but also himself for blindly obeying him. A very well-written piece. Nicely done.

I like this, how you focused on something that was barely examined in the movies.

There are just two things I want to comment on: First, Marnie's last name is technically Piper, as Cromwell was her mother's maiden name. Second, I'm not sure Ethan would think about reclaiming his magic, if that is even possible. It kind of defeats the point that you make.

Overall, though, this is good. Keep writing!
