The thing that a lot of people tend to not understand about applying martial arts or other combat skill in a real world situation is that is distinctly unlike being in the classroom. In the classroom, there is a sense of control that you don't have in the real world. You're sparring against your classmates under the supervision of your instructor, nobody's actively out for your harm. Everybody is there to learn. The real world is unpredictable. You have no idea what the other guy is capable of, you have no idea how far they are willing to go to get what they want. It's natural to hesitate the first time you end up in a real situation. Some people snap out of their hesitation right away, for others it takes a moment. How fast or slow you break out of that pause does not necessarily determine the outcome of an altercation. The time it takes to snap out is measured against the time it takes your assailant to escalate the situation. Alice here just had the bad luck of losing her advantage in the same moment that she decided to act. And it justifies that in the future she won't let her assailant(s) have the advantage of choosing how the situation escalates.

Exquisite. I just sat here and read this through today, and I beleive I may go take a look at glass. I really like Connor and Sarah, and I really like the small Primeval touches you added in, its nice to see, well read, another fan. This was truly an amazing story and I like how the characters changed and grew with it.

Ooh, awesome! You turned their already Mad world, turned it upside down, and then right-side up again. Or should I call it 'upside up' since that would be the right-side up again? *shrug* But still, awesome! And for risk of seeming even more stupid (One review for 57 chapters... not even gonna try.), I'll leave on that note. Bravo, bravo!

That was a fantastic story! I have spent the last day reading all that I've missed (believe me, it was about 30 or so chapters) and I ate up every word! Sarah was a bit of a brat towards the end, but, like you said, it was because of a good reason. I'm glad that she got over, or at least is working towards getting over, some of her problems.

And now, I'm off to catch up on another 30 chapters for Glass!

Have to mention it real quick before I go on to the next (dozen or so) chapters. Connor playing with dinosaurs? Too cute!

Wow, this was amazing! I spent most of the past two days reading it, despite a final paper I have to write for one of my classes, and I have to say it was worth it. I'm not usually a big fan on fics in which Alice and Hatter have kids, but I definitely liked yours; I appreciate the way you gave them their own personalities and character quirks, instead of making them direct copies of their parents. I also quite love all of the references to Primeval...
