Very rarely do I end a story with a giant smile on my face and a heart completely warmed. This was so freaking good, I am so glad I found it. Gosh. It had everything. Bobby included. I loved every single second and i basically spent the entire day trying to read it whilst sitting in class and hiding from the teachers. Wowza. Awesome awesome story. Thanks for writing!

I loved this story! The story's main concept, would Dean want to hunt Sam if he didn't know him? It's something I asked myself while watching the show, and well, I'm very glad someone took the time to examine it. The characterizations were amazing and genuinely entertaining with the offhand banter. Personally, I thought that Dean's growing closer to Sam was slightly glossed over with the summarized hunts and felt a little rushed, but it worked well for the suspenseful pace of the story because going through them wouldn't have added much to the story's development. The language and sentence placement was perfect too, adding just enough artistic flare to match it's flowing read. Honestly, this is one the best fanfiction works I have read in a while, so thank you so much for sharing!

John Winchester has a lot of stuff to pay for, not the least of it being selfish enough to abandon a helpless baby to whatever fate had in store.

Now that Dean knows that Sam is his brother he has every reason in the world to keep Sam away from Gordon, the real monster in this story.

Conversation like this make me want to poke holes in Gordon Walker myself. What an unpleasant creation that character is.

Boy that last paragraph brought tension right back into the story. Things had been going just a bit too smoothly.

Bobby is beginning to see things that Sam and dean are standing too near to see. The similarities will have to be explained sooner or later.

I liked the banter between Dean and Bobby. Can't wait until Sam gets bold enough to give Dean lip in return.

Well, we haven't gotten quite this variety of happy ending yet, but then they haven't really gotten to an ending yet. Give it time I guess, although in such a series and with how the seasons usually seem to end? Happy ending could be a bit of a pipe dream here, but the sentiment is certainly appreciated. At this point this universe could almost conceivably drift canon, although the lack of attachment between Sam and the Impala could be problematic. Nicely written story overall. I tend to be a bit skeptical of this breed of AU as I often find the characters come across as glorified OCs, but you pulled off well and in a compelling fashion, although perhaps with a few reasonable stretches. Sam surviving a mostly canon Cold Oaks was certainly a bit of a plot hole, and perhaps Dean took to Sam a little too fast although I guess that was mostly the point of this. Thank you for posting!

This Sam may have had a difficult and tragic childhood but at least he wasn't getting dragged all over the country by an obsessed John Winchester.
