Reviews for The Ruination Imperatives
Guest chapter 4 . 6/17/2019
The only problem I have with this is that the Borg were destroyed by Voyager along with the transwarp network.
Guest chapter 2 . 7/5/2016
This chapter was just...wrong...and so unrealistic as to be absurd.
The likely hood of a fusion reactor being able to have all safety protocols released by a mere voiceprint without codes or biometric security of some sort is ridiculous. Especially the voiceprint of someone that has ZERO normal access to facility wide power generation. Then the fact that research data on a vital high level strategic asset like the centurion being stored solely at the local level with no remote backups in multiple locations is beyond stupid. I like your stories but sometimes your plot details are not well thought out.
majorshane chapter 2 . 1/13/2016
Love your stories so far! I do have two small points of contention. 1 voyager came back in 2378 not 2377. This may be an oversight or a deliberate AU change you made, either way it's not a plot breaker. 2 I feel like your characterization of Star Fleets troops and the Klingons teamwork was a little unfair. Klingons are proud and cocky but they are depicted in cannon as competent dangerous warriors. When they accept you as an ally then the understanding is that honor of victory is shared. Klingons love a good fight but they also fight to win. As for the Feds... the star ship officers are specially trained to be star ship officers. Their security forces are trained for security on board a starship. For ground pounding you would need to call in the MACO marines whom, I would argue, train in the tactics your red shirts were lacking.

I agree that the colonials would be more adept at fighting the cyclone than star fleet or the empire, but ins teas of picking up some tricks or changing strategies you present the alpha quadrant forces as being borderline incompetent. A few years ago maybe but after the dominion war? I feel it's a bit much.

Still love your story! It's clear you have put a lot of time and energy into crafting your world.
Guest chapter 2 . 3/16/2015
Typical federation mindset. Even the most vicious enemy is simply a friend waiting to come out.
In this case however I have a hard time believing an intelligence asset like the cylon would not be in whatever passes for military custody. The abject stupidity and cluelessness of most federation people leaves me hoping fervently that the cylons prevail
EffervescentNova chapter 9 . 10/28/2014
This story is quite convoluted and somewhat confused. The many many factions are never explored in depth, the disposition and characters of the various factions, species and individuals are not captured well at all. The technology descriptions are poor as is the justification for the cylon advancements, the indifference of the 'gods' and the passive reactionary nature of humanity. All wrong and clumsy.

These universes aren't meshed well together.

Also, this super ultra weapon has a limted firing arc but can hit Romulus, Vulcan and Mars all at once? Not very limited, yet can not hit Earth which is less than a single AU away from Mars. Seriously the scale in this story is way, way off; like when you had Voyager threatened by a couple of 40 megaton nukes, as if the multi-gigaton photonic torpedoes it's shields were designed to repel would give a damn about such weapons unless they were launched in massive quantities.

I caught the hint of Stargate when it was described in the Emporer's dream.
EffervescentNova chapter 2 . 10/27/2014
The Cylon's escape from daystrom was moronic. How do you anticipate a random sequence, absolute nonsense.

The cylons, Iblis and the BSG side of this story is way overblown.

Federation and Klingon ships can't handle a few fighters? What haven't they got point defense or torpedoes for exactly that scenario?

The Q are thousands of years old. Really? I suppose humans are only centuries old then.
ThanosofTitan chapter 7 . 4/16/2014
Seems like a rather inefficient weapon tbh
ThanosofTitan chapter 3 . 4/12/2014
You had to reference Rascals, another horrible episode?
Obi1Nemogbr chapter 8 . 7/19/2013
In this case, with everything happening, I hope we get to see Shinzon and the Scimitar. Both will be needed.
They should be able to assist in curing his condition.

Perhaps alongside the Centurion and others who refused the assistance from Count Iblis.
justjoe chapter 9 . 2/23/2012
I agree with all of the other positive reviews. Excellent!
PKHenkel chapter 7 . 2/10/2011
Well, a nice as it reads this super ray (micro- and otherwise) can not work. The energy needed would be magnitudes over that what the sun emitts all the time from her whole surface. Trying to transmit this amount of energy would simply destroy the weapon long before it can be fired.

Another problem is the stability of such an weapon and distance. Even the slightest vibration makes the hitting something (planet or not) to a game of chance, one I would not bet any money in regardless the (im-)possible winnings. Burning the money gain you more.
JovianJeff chapter 9 . 7/30/2010
That was another amazing tale you've told good sir. It had been one I had avoided as I didn't think I would like it, and now I regret waiting so long. It truly drew me in and captivated me from beginning to end as it went from the personal scale to interstellar one. Each equally as interesting. Thank you for another fine tale.
JES chapter 8 . 7/23/2009
This is a very good chapter, and really shows a serious attempt to stay true to both series. I also see some attempts at humor; case in point:"Klingons didn’t work well with humans she found out- unless you tried to beat the crap out of them. Then they started liking you." That is a funny way to put it, but it is so true. The Klingons truly are a rowdy species, and it is so like them not to become totally loyal to you until you butt heads with them-and do well. I also liked the Goul'd reference. I would imagine that it would be so like them to push a Stargate into an active volcano, and I can almost see their arms held up in victory, roaring and cheering. I would imagine that the unlucky Goul'd system lord and his minions wouldn't have suffered a less severe fate (Klingons are well versed in the art of torture, and I'm pretty sure they have practiced this art for many generations, probably from the close to the beginning of their culture. I confess I haven't read the whole chapter yet, but I just wanted to convey these thoughts, so that I could simply enjoy reading the rest of the chapter, without having to worry about conveying them later.
RLS83843 chapter 1 . 4/11/2007
Why do I see Will Decker making an appearan ce? :-)
Kipling Nori chapter 9 . 2/27/2007
Just read this, and you have done a fabulous job with this crossover. Crossovers are sometimes difficult, but you pulled it off seamlessly. Both fandoms are great too, even if I'm not quite as familiar with one than the other.

I'm looking forward to reading more of your work. :)
