Great story, I loved it! I'll read your sequel and I hope it will be Holmes/Clara. I totally love them together!

I'm sorry, I've just discovered this wonderful bit of writing and I know I'm late to the party but I must say something. I love your story so far and I'm intent on reading the rest of it and the sequels but I've just read this particular author's note.

I see you dislike Mary. Well, I can't say I like Mary a lot either but to be fair she only threw her drink at him because he called her a gold digging whore. Frankly I would've done more than throw my drink on him but she's a lady and she has her dignity. really if you go back and watch that scene, the language he uses...

"You found out of it's MODEST WORTH, and therefore BROKE OFF THE ENGAGEMENT and returned to England in search of BETTER PROSPECTS...A doctor perhaps."

It's also scarily unhealthy that I've watched the movie so many times I can almost quote him word for word. I seriously need help. Anyway, just felt I needed to give you my opinion on the matter. I'm not sure why.

I love Holmes, and I've read all the books, watched a few of the older versions of the movies and of course the newer ones, so maybe I just needed to set the record straight in my own head. I've no idea. I do however love the story and look forward to reading the sequels that I've seen on your profile page.

you've already finished the story and everything but still, i really really hope i'll be seeing clara/holmes. anyways i quite like your character, clara barker, but i hope you'll add a bit more 'flesh' or 'depth' to her character.

I just loved that Sense and Sensibility connection! I just love that couple! Totally my fav. You definitely left us on a cliffhanger, but I'm going to read the sequel now. Is Mary dying (cross fingers...I can be so rude). I hope that Clara makes up her mind soon, if it takes her much longer I have to say it's dragging on. I don't like Holmes with Clara much, but I think that's where it's going. What makes me really torn apart (which goes by the movie) is that Watson and Holmes loose their bond since Watson is marrying Mary. They always had the best of relationships but than she came along.

Before I ramble on, great story! I just loved it! It was exciting and mysterious, really well done!

yes it is Jude Law, I was at a hockey game and I saw the actors names of Holmes and Watson and I knew he was going to my fav character. I'm not basing on looks here, like oh la la he's gorgeous looks but it's something I could tell. This was an interesting chapter, definitely coming along smoothly. I feel really bad for Watson, being stuck in a relationship that won't end well. I also feel bad for Clara, I don't like the girl she's turning into from Holmes influence. Just in this chapter for now though. SHe's dark, and michevious, and getting cocky. But I still want Clara and Watson together. Come on Mary, be in love with another guy!

You are really good at scaring me with this romance bussiness. I really want her with Watson now, I think the fact that it probably won't happen is making me like the couple more. I so did not see that coming, Holmes was so stupid in this chapter! Watson was so right, you disgraced her if someone else found out. If you don't marry her that could be a huge mark on her and her future husband. But that's beside the point I guess!

Jeez, I need to take a breath. phew! SOrry, I'm really hyper for some reason... As you could probably tell, I'm pretty sad that Watson married Mary. Now all I can hope for is that Mary is killed or is arrested for some shameful behavior leaving the divoce papers signed so he goes off with Clara into the sunset. Which does not have to do with cowboys... Sorry this is a pretty weird comment. This was still an intersting chapter, what is Holmes doing? I don't know if you made up your mind of what you are shipping but that's fine, I fear you might need to chose soon though (what am I saying! This story was done two years ago!) Great chapter!

Oh I hope you stuck with Watson/Clara! I just love them together! It's so cute! Mary is a good character, sure, but she's too... sweet I guess you could say. It's like she's so innocent that she doesn't have a skeleton in the closet which makes her tricky. I could not see Holmes and Clara together, not when Holmes is trying to set the two up, in a matter of speaking. I think the little section at the beginning was well done. In many stories you can't have it all action without a little relaxation, which with Holmes is rare during a case. I think it was in a good place as well.

I know this is already done, and you have like a third sotry up already, but I'm still crossing my fingers for Watson/Clara!

This murderer is really, really disgusting. "I send you half the Kidne(y)-" uh no thanks, you can keep it. Though it could be evidence, like you had in the story. I really love all this research you are putting in this story, brava! You're writing skill is really amazing as well. You can tell you put work into this! From the second letter their was some spelling mistakes which might have been on purpose, but if was because you copied in pasted it from Wiki (which fine, takes a lot less time to do that then write it all out again,) you should have fixed it. The letter could have been blotched or such so that's how it's spelled a little weirdly, which if you did on purpose is really smart! But anyways that's just when I saw the spelling mistakes.

In you bottom author note you asked if you were keeping the characters in line and if Clara was taking the main focus (well you didn't really ask it...) well Clara isn't the main focus. Sure she's mentioned more than Holmes but the same amount as Watson. (YAY!) The characters are mostly in main character, but as I said in my previous review Watson is a little less observant. Anyways this could me just wanting Watson to be the best, he is my fav anyways, but I hope my brain isn't being weird...

This is so good! The mystery is really keeping me at the edge of my seat! Clara is a charming girl and I've got to quite a liking, though it seems like she doesn't have a default, and I'm usually quite picky with OC that are take a shine to my favourite characters ;P But will she end up with Holmes? You do a pretty good job with the writing of the time as well. The characters are in personality but my only concern is that Watson is acting slightly foolish and I feel that you are giving some of his resourcefulness to Clara, and I feel that is a little out of place. Clara is quite smart and learn quickly with her keen observational skills but remember, Watson has been doing this far longer. But still it is quite a interesting read that got me hooked at the first chapter!
